no Im not storing this XML directly into a table.
I am passing two lots of XML into the SP, as 2 separate param's, where the data will be stored in various tables.
The error that I get is:-
Msg 9402, Level 16, State 1, Procedure ksspnapp_SetProperties, Line 0
XML parsing: line 1, character 38, unable to switch the encoding

Ok , so you are trying to read the XML values from stored procedure. Right ? I am not much familiar with this method. How about reading this values from your page and transmitting only the values ?

Yes, I am reading the xml values and placing them into a temp table.
The SP has to be called this way, otherwise due to the amount of data that can be changed in the UI, it could mean upto 2000 updates - so rather than 2000 calls to the DB I am doing this only once.
If I manually remove the encoding="utf-8" when I execute the SP through SQL it works ok!
So all I need to do is somehow is to remove this from the XML before I pass it into the SP.
The problem I have is that the first part of the XML is :-
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><
How do I remove the encoding="utf-8" by using Replace ?

Great, thats what I was struggling with.
Im sure there is a better way to do this, ie to have something in the serialize method to just omit this text, but this way will have to do for now.

Yes it is possible. Set the encoding type to some other type. How you are serializing XML file ? With a TextWriter object or XMLWriter object. To set different encoding, you have to choose XMLWriter object. It provides option to specify encoding

Yes it is. But this might generate an "Object reference" exception when there is no referer. So always check it is null before doing

for this u just need to use css media.
u have to create a new print css and have to include in ur aspx page.
like this..

Put the content that you want to print in Div tag and put class="Printable"
Now in javascript get all div tag and check for their class if it is preintable get its content then open a new Window put all conetent in that window and prin t that window

What I want to do is, I have an index.aspx page, where all banners, images, links, contents are there.There are about 50 aspx pages, so should i have to put all the page's contents in div tag?

This is not possible. What you can do is put the content that needs to be printed on a new page, and that page should not contain any images/banners etc. When print option is initiated, redirect user to this page and open print dialog.

No! There are so many pages in the website and if i make a different page for all pages, it will be wrong.
I want this through programming.I know we can print through javascript, but the whole page gets printed.
I want only the contents, not images etc.........

Then you could write your own print function which is not possible since your application is browser dependent. What is your website content ? Are you giving print option for all of your pages or any specific pages ?
One option you can do is, create a single print page and pass the page to be printed to this page. Give an internal request to the page using HttpWebRequest/Webclient. Write a powerful regular expression which finds all image tags from the response text. Replace those with empty string, and write the final string to your print page. And invoke javascript print option.
