Hi,
Such errors occur when the run-time cannot find the specified control.
Check ur project files if the module is there.
If u can find it, rebuild the solution completely and see what u have. If u
can't find the module in ur project/solution files, delete line 2 completely
and the control from the the source files or comment it out.
Ur project should run then.

Yes, the module is there and the project is running at the local server after publishing. When it is uploaded on the web server, It gives this error. Is it a hosting servers problem?

May be.
Try with filezilla ftp control it is a freeware tool. get the user name and the password for the server and try it.

hi,
i got some problems in running my application from the server...i have used ASP DOT NET 2005 and SQL SERVER 2005.Actually the web application i had made is run in my pc and our LAN.We are using the remote sql server and it's running quiet well.I dont have problem in the database..It's ok..Now i want to put my application in the remote server..i dont have much permission of the remote server..I was asked to put my application in that server computer so that our pages can be browsed.I dont have much idea about how to put my application in the server computer and run it.What i did is firstly i just copied the application. In this case, i found just uploading the application wont give me to browse.Then ..I tried by publishing it and making virtual directory in my computer and then upload those(published folder and virtual directory)over the server computer...But i dont know where should i put those folders in the server computer..so that they can be browsed. i also dont know should i have to upload the published and virtual directory there..Or there need the administrator of that server publish and create virtual directory being in server computer.What should be done and how to run it????

In my knowledge,for running your web application,you should create a virtual directory in the server and copy ur file to there.and set this virtual directory's ASP.NET version accordingly(means 2.0...)

Thank you...Now, if the server of the admin wants to browse my application which is in the server(i.e uploaded files), then he has to first republished that file and if needed has to create virtual directory..then only he can browse that application...right ..

In my datagrid, i use one column as template column.In that template column i use hyperlink.I need to apply different styles to items and allternating to this hyperlink.
I know applying styles to items and alternating items.
But really confused in the above situation..

I was trying to upload a file to my server through my web page but the password prompt pops out. Where can I set the username and password so that it won't prompt my user for password?

On the folder where you upload file.If security issue is not very high i usualy set for user Everyone Full control permission and it's work.

Hi,
I have a gridview which has dropdown list in template column and i am adding value dynamically to that drop down list.Now I want to save all the values which I have selected in the dropdown list. But while clicking on save button in that page it is not retaining the selected values of the ddl.
How can I solve this?

How are you adding the items? Through Javascript? If so, your server-side code knows nothing about the items. When the page is reloaded after a postback the DDL will be reloaded from the server-side. Any items added using client-side code will be lost. You would either need to post back the details for the items added in client-script to your server, or delegate the loading of the DDL to your client-side code.

Your button click event fires before the grid databinding has taken place. The controls you had added dynamically have not been recreated yet. You should wait until the grid databinding has taken place before attempting to reference any controls you have created dynamically.

I have a treeview to which i am providing a datasourceid as the sitemapdatasource.Now the problem is that suppose i have subdirectory in a directory.I am navigating to other pages through treeview.Suppose if i selected any page from subdirectory.While moving to next page where i want to land it shows me the subdirectory gets collapsed. i want to show it expanded if user selected any item from it.How ????
