hi every one
exe is composed of the begin and end address.
when 2 exe with identical address is runing
concurrently,how can windows recognized them from each other?
for example when this command
call 0x40421
ruuning concurrently in 2 exe ,how can windows recognized them?

Hi,
when loading (parts of) an exe in memory, the loader allocates free memory and builds
a translation table for all addresses, which instructs the "Memory Management Unit"
(part of the CPU) on how to translate "logical addresses" (the ones you are thinking of)
to "physical addresses" (the ones where things really are).
this happens completely automatically and transparantly, you don't have to worry about it.

i know it but i want recognize my exe from address.
for example when one interrupt called in windows,i want recognize it called from my exe or another exe?
i try doing it with address of exe but it dont work always.
please help me

The other day I was dissing windows for the lack of Unix's ability to create soft links. Soft links are a wonderful little tool that allows you to quickly rearrange directory structures. This could be a good thing or a bad thing  . Anyway, some polite individual pointed out that Windows does too have this ability - what they call "Hard Links and Junctions".

Now, I'm a recovering Unix-holic, and soft links, etc just work. Reliably. Seamlessly.
Reading this article, the first thing I see is that I can only create these links/junctions in Windows using an API. This would imply to me that MS did not really want to release this into the wild. Then I see two support tools - one from msdn and the other from sysinternals... still, nothing on the command line.
Have any of you actually used either of these features? Any gotchas?

Hi all
I cannot formate my c: Drive using windows Xp Inbuilt function(Formate Drive)
Anyone has idea what to do?
Is there any other way to formate c Drive.
I have partitioned my disk into 5 drives
C:[Old Windows XP]-> this drive doesn't formated using formate option.
D:
E:
F:
G:[Working Windows XP]
My wingows is in Drive G.

Try to Get a Bootable Windows Xp Cd from someone..
and boot from the CD.. when asks click setup and make it format the machine...
It will check for previous versions of Windows and will locate your C:\Windows installation...
Continue with Xp Setup and it wil ask for formatting...
Select C:\Windows\ option and continue...
A new installation of Windows wil be made in to C:\ drive... then u may delete of format your G:\ drive..

Windows won't let you format the System Partition or the Boot Partition, which in on your C: drive. You have to boot from some other media to keep Windows from running to for that the C: drive.
WARNING: Formatting the C: drive will probably make your working Windows XP system NON-BOOTABLE!

Accidentally i have added an action for File Folder. But i can't remove it, remove and edit are shown as disabled. How I removed that action.
the procedure i did was like
Tools->Folder Option->File Types -> select File Folder, Press Advanced and added new action

I am a bit confused about the whole CAL thing and was wondering if anyone could enlighten me.
The current system architecture is:
Windows Server 2003 server with SQL Server 2005 Express installed on it.
A main service runs on the server which reads and writes data to the database. It also recieves and distributes information to some other services running on the server.
External devices, e.g. GUI's and output displays, connect to these services to send and recieve information.
My query is obviously "How many CAL's do I need?". Having looded around abit, I don't believe we need any for SQL Server 2005 Express (only the Standard and Enterprise editions), but do we require a server CAL for each external device that exchanges data between our services running on the server?

Me and My friend has operating syaytem windows xp proffessional service pack 2.I connected my hard disk as a slave to his system. After booting syatem recognizes his all the drives but mine only c drive is recognized by the system. if i click that drive it is giving me a message box saying
"Do you want to format the drive" with yes or no option.. What is the problem..?? Why his sytem is not detecting my hard disk..? Plse reply.. Thank you..

the file system on the partition you want to read from is not compartible or the harddisk partition is simply not accessible.
Alternatively, do the reverse, master your harddisk and slave your friend's.

I just came from a meeting, we're creating a new VPN solution for the company. I'm on the Quality Assurance side.
During the meeting someone mentioned something about an S-N-X connection. Can anyone clarify, I think I understood it incorrectly, i'm hoping someone is familiar with Networks and what not that can point me to the correct terminology.

Dear All
We have one time critical program on windows 2000 service pack 5.
Our Threads should be run in exactly predefined time slots.
But in our program, I find that sometimes, Our threads blocks and doesnt work.
We make our threads with very high Thread priority(25,26,27,28,29,30,31).
It is not accepted for me that any program blocks my time critical program.
Do you have any idea about this problem and how to overcome this.
