Hi friends,
I am using MS.NET 2005.
In my web application i open a child window ,after clicking the submit button in child window i need to close the child window and perform one JS function in the parent window.
is it possible??
All I ever wanted is what others have....

Yes but the thing is that instead of puting javascript function in page put that in one js file and call that function after unload event of child window what you think

i.e in page load
if(check the condition)

But my case is that i want to show that error message in catch block...in the try catch..
if something is happened in catch block i want to show a alert message....

The only problem is that alert is not coming the control is go through the code in catch and executing the script code also but alert is not coming....

here is the problem don't pass fourth bool parameter if you are saying passing script tag in third parameter
try this

or

If you are using updatepanels I don't think the script will get registered with the script manager on postback as the page is already rendered.
What you want to try is register the script as a function function ShowMyError( message) {...} on PageLoad, and then, in your Exception handler, call the function

and in the catch block\

Guessing a little here but try using the ScriptManager, as this lets you specify a control..

ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(yourUpdatePanel, page.GetType() , "AnyKey", "show('dont do this ?');", true); <br />
I just found this[^] as well. It might help. Make sure you post the solution - I need someting similar, but can't get to dev box at the moment!
