Could you please elaborate Where you have hosted your web application. Its localhost or outside ur network??
|
|
|
|
|
The web application was hosted on a dedicated server that was accessible locally, or from intranet or over internet. the IP could always be requested in the way I explained some post earlier.
However, this was a long time ago, on a different .NET version that today's.
Hope that helps...

Dear Friends..

Hello..
i am not very sure how asp.net renders the image button into the html. But anyhow u can try this..
<br />
<br />
myImageButton.attributes.add("type", "submit");<br />
<br />
On pressing enter key, the Form.Submit event is fired. By assosiaciting the above attribute with ur image buttong it will work if the Image Button is renndered as <input...>, but otherwise too u can use the same understanding to get the job done.
Keep me updated with the same..
Regards.

Normally when you press enter, the first button in the form is activated. There are some form elements that catch the enter key, though, like textarea and select. If you want the enter key to work when these controls have focus, you have to use Javascript to catch the key and post the form instead.

Scenario:
A page is loaded and rendered in the browser as normal. Now, this page contains a part that displays data that takes quite a while to be calculated.
It would be nice to load this part of the page asynchronously after the rest of the page so that the user can have a look at the rest of the page while waiting for the data to be calculated and displayed.
I'm using ASP.NET AJAX with server-centric model.
Starting there, the easiest method would be to place the controls for showing the data in an UpdatePanel and somehow to start updating this UpdatePanel after the page was loaded in the browser.
But unfortunately, my knowledge ends there. So if you have some good tips or tricks for me how to do that, I'd be glad.
Of course, if you have other (better) approaches then please let me know (but keep in mind that it has to be ASP.NET AJAX with server centric model).
Thanks in advance.

Hi, try using IFrames. It is not a web control, but I use it as a
text editor tool for my web application. You need to use it with Javascript.
Sample code:
function doEdit(frame)
{
if (frame == "frpopup")
frpopup.document.designMode = 'on';
}

Hi guys, recently we have migrated our server to use IIS 6.0 and ASP.NET 2.0
After running the web application, I found that after I have downloaded a report in Excel, the
macro attached to it no longer exists- as if it has not been attached to the Excel file.
Can you help me find the cause and solution to this issue?
Here is the code:
private void GetReport(IList regionList, IList subregionList, IList plantList, IList categoryList, IList platformList, IList measureList)<br />
{<br />
string VirtualPath = Request.Path.Substring(0,Request.Path.LastIndexOf("/")+1 );<br />
<br />
Response.Charset = string.Empty; <br />
StringWriter tw = new StringWriter();<br />
HtmlTextWriter hw = new HtmlTextWriter(tw);<br />
Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel";<br />
Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment;filename=" + "report.xls");<br />
<br />
hw.Write("<html xmlns:x=\"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:excel\"><head>");<br />
hw.Write("<meta http-equiv=Content-Type content=\"text/html;charset=windows-1252\">");<br />
hw.Write("<meta name=ProgId content=Excel.Sheet>");<br />
hw.Write("<meta name=Generator content=\"Microsoft Excel 10\">");<br />
if(ddlYear.SelectedValue != "2006")<br />
hw.Write("<link rel=Edit-Time-Data href=\"http://" + Request.Url.Host + VirtualPath +"macros/macro.mso\">");<br />
else<br />
hw.Write("<link rel=Edit-Time-Data href=\"http://" + Request.Url.Host + VirtualPath +"macros/macro_2006.mso\">");<br />
hw.Write(GetStyles());<br />
hw.Write("</head><body>");<br />
GetTable(regionList, subregionList, plantList, categoryList, platformList, measureList).RenderControl(hw);<br />
hw.Write("</body></html>");<br />
Response.Write(tw.ToString());<br />
<br />
hw.Close();<br />
tw.Close();<br />
<br />
Response.End();<br />
}
Notes:
I displayed the path of the macros in the web page and it is correct.
So there is nothing wrong with the path.
I figured it must be something with ASP.NET 2.0. Maybe it does not recognize
the script for attaching macros to Excel anymore?

<%@ Page Language="VB" ContentType="text/html" ResponseEncoding="iso-8859-1" %>
<%@ import Namespace="System.Data" %>
<%@ import Namespace="System.Data.OleDb" %>
<script runat="server">
Sub Page_Load(Sender as Object, E as EventArgs)
response.Redirect("pages/default.aspx")

Is the address in your browser address window that of the this page or the one redirected to?
There is no reason, as far as your ocde is concerned, why it shouldn't redirect (though the imports are unnecessary, as are the ContentType and ResponseEncoding attributes in the page directive, but never mind...) so the error must lie elsewhere...

the address was on the page where it is blank. http://localhost/sitename/default.aspx <--- this one. It should redirect to this page http://localhost/sitename/pages/default.aspx
yeah.. i'm really pissed off looking where would the error be... it should redirect on the first place. During the installation, I installed the .Net Framework first than the IIS? does it makes sense that it IIS should have been installed first than the Framework?

i have designed one Web user control say there is button1 and button2(both button1 and button2 are visible true here).I also have taken two Web Forms say Form1 and Form. In these both forms, i want to use the Web user control i have mentioned above.But in form1, i want button1 visible true and button2 visible false.Similary in form2, i want button1 visible false and button2 visible true. Is it possible to do that using one web user control ? Or should i have to take seperate web user control ?? Currently i am using Dot Net 2005.

Yes you can have single form for the both depending on requirement you change the Page Rules.

If I understand your question correctly, the answer is yes, you can implement that in a single webusercontrol. On your webusercontrol (the one that contains button1 and button2), you need to provide a public property to get/set the Visible property of the buttons. For example to have a publicly-accessible Visible property of button1, you may provide this code in your webusercontrol's codebehind:
<br />
public bool ButtonOneVisible<br />
{<br />
get{return button1.Visible;}<br />
set{button1.Visible = value;}<br />
}<br />
You can provide similar approach for button2.
Now, on Form1's codebehind, you only need to set the value of this property to true/false depending on your need. For example, on the codebehind of Form1.aspx:
<br />
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)<br />
{<br />
if (!IsPostBack)<br />
{<br />
WebUserControl1.ButtonOneVisible = true;<br />
WebUserControl1.ButtonTwoVisible = false;<br />
}<br />
}

"Randz" answered what i was gng to write.
Thats the best way for doing the required job.
BUt i hope u understand the consequence of making a control's (visible=false), setting this property to false "stops" a control being rendered. That is, it wont be available to client side (javascript also).
|
|
|
|

that is true. thanks for the emphasis.
