I think your problem is that you are seeing this as a software problem and not a hardware problem.

a) take a piece of Sky,
i. better 2 pieces for redundancy in case of sky crashing
b) then cable together
i. Optical for speed, tuned to blue frequencies
ii. or copper for cost and visibility
c) connect power,
i. lightening bolts serve purpose well - need backup tho
d) Create USB port interface to sky for non-sky based equipment.
i. Connector A plugs into equipment,
ii. Connector B plugs into Sky - hmm, this step already completed


I did this as thesis project. Next lightening storm, hang USB cable out window & plug into sky, put on headset, wait for lightning. You can hear the network traffic.

No software required.
