That depends. Have you considered changing the data before it gets into the DataSet?
Does "dg" stand for DataGrid? Then you have an ItemDataBound event that you can use to manipulate each item after they have been databound.

Looking for some pointers on how best to accomplish the following task:
I'm building a time sheet/time tracking page for our department to track hours logged against various projects and whatnot - not necessarily a full-in timesheet app, but some of the basic principles anyway.
I have a vertical table that stores the time entries for each day. It is structured as follows:
PersonID
ProjectID
HoursLogged
DateLogged
What is the best approach to display and edit this info? Ideally, I'd have a 'grid' layed out on the page: projects in a dropdown and a 7 columns (one for each day of the week) with a textbox for entering/editing the hours logged. Users need to be able to enter time logged for any number of projects for a given week - say 5-10 total rows.
Currently, I've got an Access database handling this task and it builds a multi-column array, displays it on the page, and after updates are made, rebuilds the array, deletes the existing set of records, and inserts the new. Kind of FUBAR'd, but it works.
Really struggling how to go about this with ASP.NET. Any pointers or examples? Tried searching, but really don't know where to start.

Web application don't have any RichEditor controls. You need to make use of IFrame and Javascript to create one. Or you will get lot of opensource editors which can be customized for your requirement. Check FckEditor[^]

Easy way would be using IFrame component as I said in my previous post. Alternatively you can create something like Codeproject message editor. You need to create custom tags for bold, italic etc. For eg, [bold][/bold] tag can be called as a custom tag for making text in bold. But when rendered on page this should replaced to normal HTML <b> </> tag.

I m trying to add a new SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Database to my Asp.Net project, But I m unable to do so.
I m getting Following error:
{"An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)"}
Pls help me out of this problem.

hi all,
i got stucked in parsing input and parametrs from a wsdl file. I can extract all the operations .in the operation tag i will get the message ane and in the message part we are getting the part name.but in the case of soap we are geting the input paramers only in schmea tag.anybody please send me the code for extracting input,ouput parameter using soap protocol in c#.net

Web dropdown list is not editable. It's readonly. To stop it's change, you can set Enabled = false;

Dropdownlist is not a container. You can't add controls into it.

You need to create SQL Script file that contains code for creating table's and store procedure's. Deploy this file also with your package. Executing this script will set your database up
