Hi,
I am using the collapsible panel which is in this link:http://www.codeproject.com/aspnet/collapsiblepanel.asp[^]
On the right side of that collapsible panel I am adding one image for providing the Help support. I am successfully able to add the image on the right side of panel by creating another tableCell and putting the Image in that cell and adding that new table cell to Panel Header row. But Can any one specify the code How to create the events when clicking on the help image I need to transfer to another aspx page or open the PDF file.
How to create the events.
Thanks in advance

You may put the image that you created within A tag. Or attach onclick event on tableCell.
Hope it works.

Dim iyear As Integer = 1
For iyear = 1980 To 2008
Dpdobyear.Items.Add(Str(iyear))
Next
This may help u add this code in the page load and add the code to the dropdown.
Good luck

I have a config file that has over 100,000 lines. It has to do with URL rewriting, and the naming scheme of the files were such a way that they could not be rewritten using a regular expression, so I had to generate cases for each one. The initial load of the website takes 5 seconds (sometimes longer, sometimes less) as it is being cached, and then after that everything is fine. I was wondering if there was some way to either keep this config file cached all the time, or if a script could somehow load it in to cache periodically so users do not experience this initial load lag.
Thanks!

The only reason is because I'm using the URL rewriter from www.urlrewriter.net and they don't have an option to check a database. I had to get the url redirect and rewrite up and running quickly and using urlrewriter made this possible and easy.

Why not?

While sacrificing efficiency.

Because they did not code it in to their program. I suppose I'll have to go in and add the feature (Assuming it is the best option) since it's open source.

I was thinking along the lines of maintainability for the future, as well

Well, once those 100k pages or so are redirected and the new urls are indexed in the search engine, I can go back to my 8 lines or so of regular expressions. Of course, that will take a couple of months.

Hi! Can anyone explain me how in c# code-behind coding the server can be instructed to resend a page.
Can it be initiated by the Server or is it necessary that the client requests for it?
Example given: Click on Button starts a Thread, ProgressChanged should resend the Page and the actual output. (Click starts a dict search, the output is shown in a table. After 10 seconds the server should resend the Page to the Client automatically, the actual output included)
I tried it with Response.Flush() but it cannot be done out of the running thread. I think a kind of invoke is required, but don't know how to do it in aspx either, didn't work the same way I would do it in c# (InvokeRequired and Delegate)
Thx in advance for your proposals
Here an approach done with a Timer
<br />
public class Class1<br />
{<br />
public Class1(Page page)<br />
{<br />
Timer tim = new Timer(5000);<br />
tim.Elapsed += ElapsedEventHandler(delegate(object o, ElapsEventArgs e)<br />
{<br />
page.Response.Flush();<br />
}<br />
tim.Start<br />
}<br />
}<br />
<br />
public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page<br />
{<br />
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)<br />
{<br />
Class1 cls = new Class1(this);<br />
}<br />
}<br />

The server can NOT resend the page whenever it wants. The client has to request the new page, be it by the user clicking on it, or by some javascript, or by an AJAX component.

I am in the begining stage of ASP.NET upgrade process. I need to make sure that I am on the correct route. Please guide me
I have a big website which is done on ASP.NET1.1. It contains more than 30 modules ( Projects ). I have a root bin folder. After compiling each project I need to copy the DLL to the root bin. This is the present scenario.
In ASP.NET2.0, I heard that "no need of doing like this". Files can be organized in different folders and no need of Dll's. Is it ? So how can I arrange the modules ( Projects )., All in a single solution ? Or as like what I do in ASP.NET 1.1 , several independent projects and with independent solutions ? What would be the best practices on arranging the modules ( Projects ) for my scenario ? If I made all the projects in a single solution, will it make any problem if more that one developer working on same solution ?
When deploying the project to the live server, is there any security issue if I upload .CS file ? Or do I need to use "Publish website" option ?
For more information, Our development server is Windows2003 with ASP.NET 1.1 and 2.0. Website is configured using DNS (no need of accessing like localhost). It will be something like http://dnsaliasname.

Hi,
I want to add a template column in a datagrid during a runtime and also want to asign images to that template column at the runtime. can anyone tell me how can i do that?
Thanks for your help in advance,
|
|
|
|
|
you can add Template column in datagrid dynamicaly according to ur recqurement.
where you are binding you can write this
dgExample.Columns.AddAt(position,templatecolmn)
or u have option like
you can use protected variable at code behind page and assign it to column like this
suppose strHTML is protected variable at code behind then write in code behind page like
strHTML="<asp:templatecolumn>
<itemtemplate>
"
and use it in your aspx page like this
<asp:datagrid id="dgExample" width="70%" headerstyle-backcolor="Aqua"
="" itemstyle-backcolor="AliceBlue" runat="server">
<column> <%=strHTML>
