Hi all ..,
in .net 2003, in the Html view with in the body there we got onload="" event which fire during the page is loding
like
Now we are migrating the 2003 application(Already developed) to the 2005...here we are using master pages ...In all the webpages am using master pages
while doing that in the HTML view there is no body tag(and onload="" attribute) for the content pages..But it is must to call
alertmsg(); while loding the page ..So plz let me have some solution to solve this scenario or send some related articles ...

If you add runat="server" and and ID to the body tag on the master page you can then use code such as pageBody.attributes.add("onLoad", "alertmsg()") in your code
You will need to explicitly type your reference to the master page so that the control is available. Alternatively you can use FindControl to find the body tag and add the attribute

Hi,
I'm using master page with one ContentPlaceHolder, and in the webform that is using this master page I have a few div tags with runat server property. Their id are unique and I refer to them in css and java scripts. The problem is that asp.net modify id property of the div (and other controls runat server), when it is being used in the asp content cotrol, by adding some prefix like ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_ . How to force asp.net to generate the page with id's specified by me in order to not change css styles to classes and make use of java scripts.

Short answer: You can't.
Long answer: But you can use the control.UniqueId property to use as a reference in your Javascript. You might be better using classes rather than the control id's as references in your CSS.

I hope, its not possile to force asp.net to keep the same id as you specified.
BUT, You can get the Client Id of your server control in your javascript.
var example=document.getElementById("<%= txtBox.ClientID %>");
Here, txtBox is a asp.net TextBox server control. Hope it helps!!

Totally i need to display a confirm box after he updates and clicks on update button

The Flow is as follows
1.user clicks in edit the catpion is changed 2 Update
2.User Selects the id n accoording to the selected id the data is displayed in there respective textboxes
3.User Changes the neccessary data..
4. When user clicks on the Update Button i need the Confirm Message DO u wantto update?

In the label, you have a property called AssociatedControlID and in TextBox, you have a property called AutoCompleteType. Can you tell me what is the use of it?

Hi,
AssociatedControlID
property any click on the Label extends to the associated control. In case of an associated TextBox the effect is that when clicking on the Label the TextBox gains focus.
AutoComplete
monitors a text box and creates a list of values entered by the user. When the user returns to the text box at a later time, the list is displayed. Instead of retyping a previously entered value, the user can simply select the value from this list.
