i am using asp, in that i have a report and on that report i have a button named export to EXCEL now my que. is how can i export this data to EXCEL sheet...

then u can use the export button to export to excel

I think you have to use crystal report for exporting data to excell sheet. Crystal report is the famous tool that you can easily use to export data to ms excel any time, when you are using asp it is the most effective tool to dealt with.

Hi all,
I am creating an website using AJAX, When the user close the browser by clicking the X button in right top, i want to call an javascript function, this function calls an asp.net page using AJAX, In that asp.net page i am doing some database related operations.
My doubt is when i close the browser the asp.net page is called and closed suddenly, I cant able to call the method in that asp.net page.
How to solve this problem, plz any one suggest me.

Hi everybody,
we have a 2-tier (unmanaged) C++ application (being compiled with VS 2005) that is connected to MS-SQL and allows the user to browse and edit order records. The data access and business layer objects are well defined (so-called “core”) and the UI layer uses them and the MFC to provide a rich user interface.
Now we want to “web enable” this application, which means that the user shall be able use the application via a web browser (IE and Firefox).
Which “technology horses” could and which should we ride?
a) enabling the core to become a “server” (IIE extension?, C++.NET and web services?, creating own server with native C++ SOAP? ...?)
b) bringing a rich UI to a web browser including performant data exchange with the server (ASP.NET with Web Forms? AJAX based Javascript UI library? ...?)
On what topics should we start reading to create a base for deciding?
I'd appreciate your input very much!

While running through the code optimization, I had to fill the sheet with the compiler warnings. I have observed that this.Page.RegisterStartupScript is now deprecated in favor of a more complex method call like
ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(Type,stringKey, stringValue)
I could not find any compelling and convincing reason for this deprecation or move strategy:
1) An elegant string method being traded off by a complex method call.
2) More error prone latter because of Arrays. I just got an 'Index Out Of Bounds'.
The page currently is moved to Obsolete API list. Anyone could highlight the advantages of new method compared to the former and how best to migrate to it?

I believe the aim here is to use the type as a namespace for the scripts. This allows two unrelated controls to register the same script name for different scripts, while at the same time preventing the same actual script (qualified by type name and script name) from being unnecessarily registered multiple times.
For example, say you have MyDropList and MyNewButton controls, developed by different vendors. They both need a startup script. If they've both called it Init (say) and register it the old way, only one of the necessary startup scripts will get output (the first one, I think). Using the new way, you effectively get MyDropList.Init and MyNewButton.Init, they no longer clash, and both scripts will be output.
I don't see where the Index Out Of Bounds (presumably an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException) is coming from.

whyu is that?
i need to refresh my parent form witout getting this message ?

like
it will get refreshed for every 2 seconds
if you want some other method send your code.

If you use XMLHTTP to reload the page and send/recieve the data, you can workaround this glitch/limitation.
