I am having a problem in one of my projects in ASP.NET regarding sending a mail....
I have made the programming logic, and tried to send the mail from the web page but what happens actually is, though the mails gets stored in the "Drop" folder of "C:\Inetpub\mailroot\" but i cannot see those mails in my MS outlook 6 though configured for the same.......
the second issue i am having is with the domain name being specified with the SMTPClient.... I have made and alias domain to the default domain in the IIS but if i select the default domain the mail gets stored in the Drop folder (not in outlook though!) but if i select the other domain the mails are found no where.......
I am new to ASP.NET, please teach me with the logic and concept in Configuring SMTP client and Outlook and the theory behind

hi ,
using Asp.net 2003 with c#
i am validating input is decimal or not
the code is like
decimal decVal ;
if( decimal.TryParse(inputvalue, out decVal))

}

}
But the problm is in decimal.TryParse
the error is " 'decimal' does not contain a definition for 'TryParse'"
any solution .or any other logic??

i have a DropDownList,Gridview and buttion on my WebForm.aspx,when User Change the Selection in the Dropdownlist ,i bind the Onclick event of the buttion control at run time,thats working pretty Good but when i click the button it send the Request on the server through XMLHTTPRequest Object and Fill the Gridview,but the PROBLEM is that the Grid cannot befill.i check the Dataset it has the data but could not show in the gridview.i have implement Ajax in Asp.net 2.0 manually,i mean to say i write the Code of XMLHTTPRequest Object in Javascript file and Send the Request to the Server Through Xmlhttprequest Object.i think the Gridview is not Initialize when the Post Request in come on the Server.

is it possible to create a report which is editable??
That is,after generating the report,when I click on any of the item thats displayed in the report,Cursor need to appear.I need to do some changes(for example,say i change the text....for example,changing the name from Mohan to Mohana)and take out my cursor out of the field the change need to get saved...
Is this practically possible??

yeah It is possible but in this case you need to design one page which will take input and will generate the final report, but if you are using crystal reports then it is not possible.

But Design of the Page is some what disturbing.

migration tool. now i need this converted asp.net inline code to outline .
here i got whole output but design is missing that alignment .

I think you can't acess that html table from server side better is
use div tag runat=server and make it visible true or false accroding your need In same way you can also use placeholder control

keep id to that and runat="server"

Apply style "Display:none;" to table tag.
and on button click event "Display:block;".

We can't provide you code
Create a Textbox object then give it some meaningfull id
Add the Text box Where you want to add on the page
better is first add Placeholder then add the textbox in that placeholder
