The problem is that the excel file has some fields that are optional. If the some of the fields in the first data line are empty, then the remaining data in that column is lost. All data are numbers. I think it has something to do with formatting. Maybe the drivers need data in the first column to determine datatype. I found somewhere that putting IMEX=1 in the connection string will make it not restrict datatype. I did not work.

If the first column has all fields filled in, then the remaining data is fine. Please help. Thanks in advance!

I want to know where the user right-clikced the page.
window.event.x returns the x position relativew to the top corner of the screen. I want to know the position relative to top of my document. (when the page has a scroll-bar, these two values differ).

Hi all,

I hope I have put this question in the right place – if not Sorry!

I am in the process of making a website and have decide to make it a members only site and to charge a small monthly fee to join.
However I don’t want users to have to input their details each month. So is there service that will take a monthly reoccurring fee ?

I was reading up on EPDQ but it all sounds a bit big business for me ! I only want to charge a tiny amount (possibly £1 per month per member) but just need a simple way to make this charge each month ! I don’t want to be responsible for the transaction myself – the security problems with customer details would scare me.

Any ideas ???

You'll probably not find many payment processors setup for such small fees. You would be better off grouping payments together so people have to buy 3 months, but each month is only £1. PayPal have a recurring membership and is likely to be the easiest option.

For £1 a month it will hardly be worth your while, any online payment service will probably charge you around 50p just for the transaction, you'd be better off billing yearly. You can do subscription based payments with PayPal (I've payed my web hosting like this for a few years now), I think its pretty simple to do as long as you don't mind using the PayPal payments screens.

Using PayPal as your merchant will cost you 23.5p on a £1.00 transaction (3.4% + £0.20p). Potentiall not the end of the world if you can then upsell to your clients.

Using the PayPal PayFlow Pro .NET API it's a piece of piddle to integrate into your web site. It's about £20.00 a month for the PayFlow subscription, with a further charge for recurring payments. www.paypal.com

I have a div which is embedded inside a table.

I can manually find the element using getByElementId("mytag");
I can even statically assign innerHTML, but my problem occurs when i try and assign it the responsetext from a XMLHTTP Object.
If the DIV tag exists out the table on its own, then everything workds fine,
its just when the div is embedded inside a table or even a form.

What am i doing wrong, someone please help.
I can document.write the responseText and its correct,
I can even statically assign 'hello' to the innerHTML of my tag and all works.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

there is a < div > tag but it disappeared on posting. Its in the table cell.

Have you tried it in different browsers? I wonder if its a client-side error or a server-side error. You might also check to make sure you don't have a reserved name issue.

Hi guys

i am facing a problem , i am sorry if i am ignorant actually i am a bit new to asp.net,

the problem is that i have bounded my datagrid with data source(Data set object),
when there are large number of records the size of the grid is perfect, but when there are limited records in the dataset object for e.g 1 or 2 so then the row height of the data grid gets increased and looks very much odd, i must be missing some thing, but please any help will be highly appreciated,

you can specify height and width for row and column by using grid property

for example if you want to make alternating rows should have static height you can select alternatingitemstyle from the grid propery window there u can specify your styles this is one way.

or your can use style sheet

or if u go to grid propertybuilder you can see the "format" menu there u can specify your styles.

There is the requirement of autometic software updation process. We need a method where the admin will check for updates with a button in the GUI, and the system will self-extract and install on it's own. We're going to get many customers on our project, and need automated processes for this.

Please give the idea how it is possible both for Window and Web based application. We are using .NET as well as Delphi application.

In the RowDataBound event handler write:

e.Row.Attributes.Add("onclick", script);

where 'script' is either some javascript for client-side action or if you implement the IPostBackEventHandler, it can be a postback event reference, for server-side processing.

Use Ctrl+Left/Right to switch messages, Ctrl+Up/Down to switch threads, Ctrl+Shift+Left/Right to switch pages.
