Hi all
In my web page i have 2 textbox's
1 is textbox.multiline (Textbox1)
2 is normal (Textbox2)
Now i want enter some text in textbox2 it will display in textbox1(multiline) it is displaying
But the scroll bar going down i want to show which is enter resently
Exapmle
if i enter

2
to
10 numbers
1 to 5 is showing and 6 to 10 is in scroll down i want to show the 6 to to first

u can a see a scroll bar in the textbox(multiline)
In that u will see first part of the text and if u scroll down u will see
2nd part text

Am new to ASp, i have books that Guide me well ,but i have a Problem on the Following lines. In the Following Code am trying to use the Messagebox in ASP.NET, am using visual Studio 2003

Anyway, don't use MessageBox.Show() in web application, it just can't work. For this kind of thing you must use client script, e.g. javascript function alert().

ok, Problem Solved, on the Message Box issue, on the Following Code

i want to use BindingContext Function that i use for Windows Applicatioon to Navigate through the dataset. VS underlines this BindingContext, infact in the Intellisense it does not show.

BindingContext Class [^] is in System.Windows.Forms. Look on MSDN[^] how is data binding done in ASP.NET.

Its simple.
You can do this at designe time itself...
Add a command field to grid view.

<asp:CommandField ButtonType="Button" ShowDeleteButton="True" /><br />
Then add DataKeyNames property to grid view.
<br />
<asp:GridView DataKeyNames="MyRecId" .......><br />
Then add delete command in your data source

...DeleteCommand="Delete From [MyTable] WHERE [MyRecId]=@MyRecId"..<br />

you may notice that the textbox1 is server side control....

Hi,
FYI, View the Default.aspx page in browser, and View the source (rigth click on page and select View Source). Then you try to locate the ID of your text box. After rendering, the client ID may not be same as the server control ID that you have supplied while developing the page.
So you have required to pass the ClientID of the text box to your Javascript method.
Try Call JavaScript method like, onclick="javascript:function();"

-alert( document.getElementById("textbox1").value);not working
i really dont know how to solve it
and also tried to search but nothing useful

Any Event handler((eg)button click) --> onclick="JavaScript:SomeFunction('" + tbox1.ClientID + "')";
Javascript code:
function SomeFunction(tboxID)
{
tboxID.Value="Test";
}
This will assign the string "Test" to TextBox tbox1. This will works fine. Let me know, if you find any problem.

but i have tried to pass Textbox1.clientID and gives error in browser.

I am using Template Fields in which i had taken ImageButton for edit ,Update adn Cancel. when i am clicking the edit imagebutton it goes through
