I made an application with asp.net 2.0 (c#) to manage users in active directory.
I need to reset the user's password and at the first access The system have to ask me to change the password.
Any Idea?

Well dude, its not clear what you're asking,
I mean -
is the question how to create a unique password ?
in that case you can use the create a unique ID using the .NET's GUID
or the logic of how to know if he is entering on the first time...
in that case you can use a boolean flag in the database, say "IsFirstTimer"
that is set to True at first and then set to False
or did you have a different question

I try to explain better..
With my application i can create user and store it to active directory. I set for the user a default password.
With this credentials user can login into Windows: if it's the first access, Windows ask to change the password.
If a user losts the password, my application allow to reset it, and set a new default password. Now when the user login into Windows, the system have to re-ask to change the password... How can I do this?
The code to reset the password is below

on a web server in addition to the sharepoint we have ASP.NET applications.
Some of the ASP.NET applications are under Framework 1.1 and others are 2.0 each using a different application Pool.
The sharepoint is working fine however all the ASP.NET applications are not functioning (both 1.1 and 2.0)
And giving the below errors
Server Application Unavailable
The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable. Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web browser to retry your request.
Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this specific request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server. Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur.
in the event log:
ASP.NET 2.0.50727.0 - event ID 1088
Failed to execute request because the App-Domain could not be created. Error: 0x80070005 Access is denied.
Any help plz

Try reinstalling ASP.NET on your box using the Administration utility (2.0.50727) to install and uninstall ASP.NET on the local machine.:
Open a command prompt
Stop IIS: iisreset /stop
Change to the .NET Framework 2.0 root directory: C:\winnt\Microsoft.Net\Framework\v2.0.50727\
Reinstall ASP.NET 2.0 by using the following command: aspnet_regiis -i command.
Start IIS again after it has been run: iisreset /start
Try to access your web page again.
Hope this will solve your problem.

As session varaibles are store at the server side you can't get them using response .. How can you read the session varaibles ?
You can read cookies are those are store at the client side

Sorry for confussion!!! let me explain it to u!
Let suppose i have URL = "http://www.some.com"
Now in it i have a Grid which depends on some session variables. Now when i use Response.Redirect(URL) the grid reterives the data on the basis of session variables.
but when i use HTTPWebRequest to get the HTML which is generated for that URL grid doesn't reterives session values.
I have to get the execute the URL on the Server and Get the Generated HTML.

Sorry but i think you can't do that as Session is store at server side
you are accessing the aaplication from the URL
Why don't you use query string instead of session varaibles to retrive the data.
As per my understanding there is one application that have one url
After user enters into website Server side session are get created and store
Using this Session values data is coming in Datagrid .

Hi,
I am the below code to identify the Current loggedIn User. It is working fine, while running with Visual Studio IDE.
Object objLogonUser = Request.ServerVariables["LOGON_USER"];
Web.config --> Windows authentication
After deploying into IIS, it won't give the Current User Id, intead it gives empty. I am trying to solve this by,
IIS --> Website -->DirectorySecurity --> Annonymous access and authentication control / EDIT --> Unchecked Annonymous access & Checked Integrated Windows Authentication.
But, still it doesn't works for me. Can anyone help me in this regard? Thanks

I'm not quite sure how your managing your security, but you can manage it via your web.config for the most part.
In any event, this might be of some use since you are using .Net.

Which on my local machine returns: "COMPUTER_NAME\David"

if i give correct username,password,it will go viewpage(it is working fine)
then i give logout in viewpage.it will redirect to loginpage(it is working fine)
now i give navigate to BACK button.it will not go viewpage
