BTW, the tag is an 'anchor' tag not 'address'

Absolutely correct. I was thinking anchor and typed address. Blush | :O

tag is for linking external documents such as style sheets, normally when people say a link they mean an anchor tag.

Correct again. As stated I have never used link and told him he would have to try it because I really didn't know what he is trying to accomplish so I left it to him to try whatever he wanted, but he has given me an idea I want to try.

I use PHPSS (PHP enabled CSS) to implement browser specific hacks usually aimed in getting the boys from Redmond to conform to the rest of the world. Although I do have OPERA 5 hacks and various Mozilla hacks thrown in there also. What tangled webs we weave.

Strange as it sounds since I use PHPSS I didn't find it unusual to want to post parameters to CSS. PHPSS gives CSS a whole new dimension that most people are not used to considering.

My intention was just to illustrate things that worked for me and let him adapt it to his requirements. Smile | :)

I have always used the anchor tag and have used it to make context sensitive jumps to the desired page based on the state of the current transaction. You could certainly make a static form to do this but I tend to code in a dynamic environment adding and removing DOM objects as I need them. I just swiped existing code and it happened to be dynamic. Static code would work just as well. Big Grin | :-D
