yeah but i dont realy know how to use it,
but if i dont use frames,how will i display my combo content in the some part the page,and i want the page setup to be same in evrywhere,using frame it is possible,just you select some item in the combo,and display its details in the next frame,
if i follow you how will i do that

I have been attempting to add a Confirmation Popup to a Button that comes from a ButtonField in a GridView. I have successfully identified the Button and added the Javascript with the code below. When I press the Button, a Confirmation Popup comes up with the "Ok" or "Cancel" buttons as usual. The problem is that when I press the "Ok" button….no post back is made. I can't figure it out. Is there some kind of special consideration that I missed with adding this kind of confirmation to a Button from a ButtonField?

Excuse me for the stupid question, but after a few hours of searching through the net I'm still not quite sure if IIS is a stand-alone package that I can download and install, or does it only come integrated with Windows Server 2003? And what exactly OS and Server do I need to run ASP .NET Apps?
 I'm sleepy. But I can't get a rest because of those *********.

You can't download IIS, it's included in Windows.
For Windows Server NT 4 you install Option Pack to get IIS. In Windows Server 2000 and Windows Server 2003 IIS is installed by adding it in Windows Components.
To run ASP.NET applications you need .NET framework and IIS. For testing you can use any Windows version that includes IIS, like Windows 2000 Pro or Windows XP Pro. Visual Studio 2005 includes a stand-alone web server, and doesn't require IIS for testing. For hosting a site you need Windows Server.

hi all,
i want to make the width of text boxes same for IE and Fire Fox but it is not working. How to accomplish that task,i m creating that text box(ASp:Textbox) inside table.i m stuck with dont know what to do with this.i m using VS 2003 for my project.

set width of text box in Pixels and then in "%" but, both gives different result of width (IE and Fire Fox).

Hi,
I'm developing a web service in which I need to get the sub-directories & files list which reside in the same directory where the Web service is installed.
In other word, in the same directory where I put my Service.asmx, I have a few other files & directories.
Those file & Directories I need to access from within my Web Service Code.
This Web Service will be Deployed in a nother computer, so when I'm building it i have no idea in which directory it will reside.
My question is: How do I gain access to the actual directoy in which my Servive.asmx got installed to, so I could something like: foreach (string directory in Directory.GetDirectories(MyWebServiceDirectory))??
If i use Environment.CurrentDirectory I get the C:\Windows\system32...
If I use Application.StartupPath I get back a reference to an HttpApplicationState object...
p.s. I'm using C# .NET
Any Help is appreciated.

Hi - In the little page below, which multiplies two numbers, how can I ensure that I get the "right" answer instead of some approximation? If, for example, I enter 79.32 in the first box and 10 in the second, instead of getting 793.2 I get 793.1999999999999

That is completely normal. Floating point math is never exact.
Most values can not be exactly represented, so the closest approximation is used. When you multiply the values, the rounding errors get large enough to show up when you convert the value to it's string representation.

You can't display the "correct" answer, as it doesn't exist...
Use the Math.round method to round the value to the precision you want to display.

No disrespect Guffa (believe me, I have great respect for the efforts you put into this forum) but there is a correct answer: the correct answer to 79.32 * 10 is 793.2, plain and simple, and it seems crazy to have to jump through all sorts of hoops to arrive at it using Javascript.....

Does anybody know if there`s a limit to the form post method?
I`m trying to pass some values (form input hidden/text and select fields) through ASPX pages, but my Request.Form collection isn`t complete on the receiving page - it only has the firsts elements in my form. The page that passes the values is only a html page with the .aspx extension - it doesn`t contain anything ASPX related.
I`m using .NET 2.0 with VS2005 and IE6 and FF 2.0.
Also, i have read some hints on the internet without any help (changing the reg. [B]MaxClientRequestBuffer [/B]value or putting the ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data" into the sending form tag)
