can we insert to datagrid without dataset? i mean insert manually
example:
in vb 6 if we use flexgrid we just write grid.textmatrix(row, col) = value
value is anything that w want to insert to the grid
can datagrid get value from that kind of code??

Can I programically ascertain , the number of users who has accounts on my operation system
I can find out the user who is currently logged in .
By the following code.
System.Environment.Username
But I want to know the no of users who has account on the operation system.
Please help.

Can you write some code to have it go through the "document and settings" directory on the system and count the number of profile directories. Just remember to subtract at least 3 for Administrator, Default User, and All Users.

I believe your problem is that you are trying to compare two string dates as if they were date values, which of course you cannot do successfully. The only way you can successfully compare 'dates' as strings would be to arrange the dates in yyyymmdd format so that they have a 'numerical' value to which you can apply an operator.
I would suggest that the dates be stored in the database as either proper dates, or as the string representation of the date in yyyymmdd format. EIther of these would make it much easier to handle date comparisons.
If changing the database structure to a date is not possible at this stage you may have a problem unless you can change the string storage to a more usable format.

I'll weigh in on this, I have had several projects where the client data was stored as a string. They always want to query by a from -> to date on these fields. Your best bet is to backup the data then change the field in the database to a date field then make sure the change took. Now you can change your code so that the search won't need to be converted to do what you want.

I have two froms, one form has button called "Close",
when I clicks the "Close" button then two forms are closed.
I wants to close that "Close" button from not all the forms.how can I handle this????????

I guess you are closing MDI Form and all other forms seems to be its Child Form . Do take a look at it
