I am designing three web pages and want user id retain in third page.
i give user id in first page.
on yhe basis of that user id i change password of that user.
i use datareader concept for checking userid and password at first page.
now the problem is how can i take this userid to third page and how i change password on that page.

What´s the standard mechanism used for server-side validation when using a objectdatasource control?
Do you validate on your Page_Load event? If so, how do you signal the objectdatasource control to not propagate the Insert/Update/Delete event?
All of the examples i´ve found show how you can bind to the control and perform a CRUD operation with data that´s not validated and that is not expected to fail.

I want to write a web page which having a textbox and a button. When user click on the button, there will be a calendar window pop-up and let user to select the date. When user click on the date, the pop-up calendar's window will be closed and the date selected will be show on the textbox on the web page.
I don't know how to transfer to date back to the original web page. Please kindly help.

u can use this method for example:

and in calendar.htm page write:

Hi,
I have created a SOAP web service in .NET. I have a client application which consumes some methods - it essentially passes a username and password to the web service and gets back a 'signature' (for what is not important), once the username and password is correct.
Obviously, this web service is exposed to the world - and could be a target for malicious users, etc. Is there any way in .NET to say "Only allow this application to use this web service"?
I cannot limit the IP range, as the client app should be usable from anywhere. I'm sure this is a common problem, but have found no concrete help.

with help of commandName Property of button u just find particular button

and I was wondering about 2 clases is this project, sqlHelper.cs and sqlProivder.cs, am I free to use theese classes ? Are they provided by Microsoft ?

Count the parameters in the method signature, then in the code calling the method. When you have spotted that the number of paramteres doesn't match, check the parameters one by one until you spot the one that you have forgotten.

Hi dears,
I logged in to my webserver control panel and created a subdomain like "downloads".
then I created a directory in my wwwroot as same as subdomain "downloads" and put a default.aspx file in the directory. but when I type http://downloads.mysite.com in browser an error occured with this message:
Runtime Error <br />
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine. <br />
<br />
Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a < customErrors > tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This < customErrors > tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
Should I do anything more???
