I have added a section (named 'preliminaryQuoteGeneratorConfiguration') decleration and definition to the web.config file. But when i build the solution it gives me the following error:
Section or group name 'preliminaryQuoteGeneratorConfiguration' is already defined. Updates to this may only occur at the configuration level where is defined. (F:\...\TestWebSite\Web\web.config line 12)
even though it is declared and defined within this file (web.config) only.
Please help me in this regard.
Thanks!

When you define your own config section you need to add it to the
<configSections> of your web.config file. Something like:
<section name="environmentConfiguration"
type="ConfigIt.KeyValueConfigurationSection, ConfigIt"/>
That error sounds like the section has been added twice in the configSections group.
Hope that helps.

Thanks!
I have ensured the single entry of section decleration and definition.
The problem occured when one my project coworker backed up the old version of web application and created copy for changes. He created a folder on my local system and bound it to source project.
It works ok on his system and other member's system but fails with mine one.
Thanks!

Hi Guys,
Have a good day. I need your help. I don't know if what's wrong with this small asp code. By the way I am using Classing ASP. Actually, this is only a sort of test asp program for me to be able to test if the code that I am working later is correct. Because I will be using the same concept in saving the multi selected checkbox into the database, mssql2005.
I just don't know if what make it stuck, It will not return the correct value of the selected checkbox. I am sure you have a brilliant idea on how to do it. Please share your knowledge. Below is the classic asp source code.
Thanks in advance
<%
Dim CheckX
Dim CheckY
Sub DisplayCheckBox
If Request.form("x") <> "" Then
CheckX = "Checked"
Else
CheckX ="Not"
End if
If Request.form("y") <> "" Then
CheckY ="Checked"
Else
CheckY ="Not"
End If
End Sub
%>
>
x: <%= CheckX %>y: <%= CheckY %>

You're mixing server-side and client-side scripting up a bit. I would advise getting a pure HTML page working first, and then add in the appropriate server-side code.
I normally name my form:
<form name="frmMain" ...>
In you client-side code you can then use (assuming VBScript):
<script language="VbScript">
Sub DisplayCheckBox()
If frmMain("x").checked Then
'do something.
Else
'do something else.
End
End Sub
</script>
However, most serious developers would be using JavaScript for the client-side code because it will work on a wider range of browsers.
If you want to do form-level validation then use the "OnSubmit" event on the form. This is more reliable than the "OnClick" event of the submit button. If you want field-level validation then try the input element's "OnChange" event.
Hope that helps.

I have a requirement to search multiple columns in a database table based on the search string entered by a user.
Example: txtSearch = “firstname lastname 1234 03/04/07”
DB table: has firstname, lastname, ID, Date columns in a table
I need to search the person info based on the string. Is it possible to do it?
Or is there a good way to implement the search in the ASP.net.

Well Madhu I have done this while using mySQL as Database. The query wud be ...
SELECT *, MATCH (firstname, lastname, ID, Date) AGAINST ('Search Text Here...' IN BOOLEAN MODE ) AS score FROM table_name
WHERE MATCH (firstname, lastname, ID, Date) AGAINST ('Search Text Here...' IN BOOLEAN MODE ) order by score desc
If you are using other than mySQL then sorry...

I use SQl Server 2000/2005 (T-SQL).

I am using SQL server full text indexing. It works fine.
When querying the DB using a big string,
I could not able to query just few letters from the word.
EX: table tblNames:
FirstName LastName
Test Student
Ex: “test student” this works fine if I use the full word.
I am trying to query “ts st” or “ts” using below SQL
select oid, firstName, LastName from tblNames
WHERE FREETEXT (*,'ts st')
Can Anybody help me how to do this.
Thanks,Madhu

Hi,
I've got a gridview control on a page which is bound to a custom collection. All the properties of the objects in my collection are readwrite apart from the ID which is bound as readonly. I've added edit buttons to each row but i can't find the 'Enable Edit' Property on the datagrid. All the axamples i've found appear to use design time binding.
Is it possible to bind a collection of objects to a grid at runtime and edit them in situ?
Thanks for help / links etc

For Mozilla I think you need to apply server side validation. If you find any solution for Client Side Validation with Mozilla let me know. Thanks

What line are you trying to debug? Is it your code, from another assembly, or from a third party?

Did you compile your web app in debug mode?

hi there:
If you want to step into a dll, you have to reference the project which created that dll into your solution.

Hi,
I'm also faced similar problem earlier. What I have done is stopped all .net applications including ending the task of aspnet_wp.exe and compiled it again in debug mode. It will work. You can see ASPNet_wp.exe on right-clicking the task bar and in the Processes Tab of Task Manager. Check whether the settings in IIS correctly and the system you are debugging have administrative rights.
Happy Coding!!
