Put quotes instead of the apostrophes in the pattern.

Use the Regex.Matches method with the input string and the pattern as arguments. This returns a MatchCollection object that contains the matched strings.

Getting Custom Authentication to Work

I've been trying to get the ASP.NET login control to work with my own-defined authentication method, but couldn't.
The MSDN documentation says to put the authentication logic within the Login.Autheticate event stub. Now, I've done that; and below is the event handle for the login control.

The problem is the LoginName control on the page does not display the authenticated user name, nor does a label control i placed on the page to do that ask.

I want to add ajax-control in my existing web application(vb),and have read for the intenet that it possible.So what I don't understand is that,they say I must include this code,to add it,in the web.configer

You can run an exe on the server, but you can't run an exe on the client without using some thing like activeX/java.

Also consider whether your users will thank you for trying to access their local system like this...

If you have the need to run a process on the server I would suggest you create a class library that only produces a DLL file and then pull that in as a reference. It cant just be "run" you would have to call a method or function but within those you can take care of all of your processing.

I did this on one project that required something happen when a button was clicked on a web page but I also needed a task to run daily so I created the DLL and another project that was just a simple console application that would do the same thing as the website and that was to call the DLL.

I'm using window authentication But I'm falling little bit in trouble. I'm using this code: Page.User.Identity.Name; But it is bringing the Login Id, but I want to get the Name of the User. How could I do this?

The Windows Login Name is different From the user name. Lets say My login name is ot0023, But My name is Douglas, Using the privious code I would get oth0023. So this time I want to get Douglas in place of oth0023. Is that possible.
