You could do it the MFC way and have a single application class instance. Initialization is
in the constructor, before WinMain is called. Additional calls on the object could be made in
WinMain.

Hi...
What if I use GetModuleHandle(L"abc.ocx") in the InitInstance() of the of the App class derived from 'COleControlModule'...of the ActiveX control "abc.ocx" ?
Will I get the Handle or it will return NULL....?
I have encountered controls, in some of them..handle is found and in others its NULL...
Wat is the reason behind this behavior..?
Can any one explain?

I'm not sure, why you are doing this ? you can ger module handle any way, if its of same control.

Now here's the scene...when I compile the control....I get the handle...but when it is used in a container.....it gives NULL...
I want to know why is it giving NULL in a container...

You have not answered question asked by me. Why you are doing this, me there are other,easier ways to get its module handle, using CWinApp::m_hInstance for instance.

Yeah...you are right...there are other ways to do this..
But, ideally it should give the handle...and if it not giving then there is something wrong somewhere...I have to figure that out whats wrong...because I have other controls which are giving the handle correctly...
That why I want to get to the root of this problem..so that it doesn't pose this problem in future.

Anyway, use GetLastError after calling that API to figure out the problem.

Error no...126..Module not found....but if I have created a variable for that control...it must have been loaded into the address space of the container process....then why is it not found.....?

Probably, you have given relative path. And, .ocx is not present there. Try giving full path of ocx.
p.s. My advice is will be to use CWinApp member variable instead.

From resource editor, chose Default Button option for clean button.

see i am having three buttons clean, reboot and save. initially the focus should be in clean. if we give tab key the focus will be to next button ie reboot when i press enter key with focus on reboot it does not calling the event reboot it just calls the clean button event. what i have to do

Check how you have mapped correct event handlers.

Make "Clean" the default button in the resource editor.

In my application a variable number of buttons (MFC CButton) are dynamically created. How to dynamically assign callback (OnClick) functions to these buttons? Can someone help me?
