Hi,
I have change my cursor with SETCURSOR but In normal case where top left corner of cursor
gives you the position of cursor in your application window (where your cursor points e.g.(100,100)).
In This case i have pencil cursor so i want it to give me point where niddle of my pencil tool points not the top-left corner of my pencile tool.
You can see in any drawing application suppose in mspaint when you have rectange tool selected it starts deawing form top left corner of cursor but when you have pencile tool it will not set pixel at top left corner but the point wher niddle of pencil tool points.

Probably you need to change the hot spot in your cursor to whatever point that you want. You can do this using the resource editor.

You can go to the resource view and then open the cursor file. Check for the hot spot option in the toolbar and select it and point to some location in the cursor design file. The next time you run the application the hot spot would be the point that you set. For example in windows the hot spot is the top point of the arrow cursor

Yes, In VS2003.net when u open cursor from resources you can see one toolbutton on toolbar set enable like magicwnad tool button in photoshop

I've found some problems with the Release version of a simple
VS2005 MFC application.
If I compile that version with "Use MFC in a Shared DLL" option,
the application cannot run on a PC where there is no VS2005
(when I try to launch the executable, the OS shows an error message).
The problem doesn't exist if I compile the appication with the
"Use MFC in a Static Library".
Why the version compiled with "Use MFC in a Shared DLL" option
doesn't work correctly ?

As I've recently learned, the remedy suggested below does apparently not apply when distributing applications built with VS2005. The article linked to in the post sent by Cédric in this thread should be read instead.
You have to distribute the necessary DLLs with the application.
Use Dependancy Walker to find out what DLLs the application is using.
It's a good idea to read this[^] article on how to avoid problems when distributing the release version of your application.

With Visual Studio 2005, it isn't that easy unfortunately  Microsoft introduced the concept of manifest files to avoid dll versions problems. You cannot deploy your application as easily as with VC6 (just copy the exe and the dll's).

Yup, for good and bad.
Usually my customers provide the development environment and most of the time they don't see any benefit to upgrade. For the time being I'm actually using Eclipse...

I use it for developping in Java (a little bit) and I find it extremely powerfull. I never used for C++ code.

Hi all,
What function can I use to monitor whether or not a computer has network connectivity. For example, if the network cable was unplugged the function would trigger. I suppose I should do this in a thread?

Will this work for a local (LAN) connection aswell ?

Sorry, I didn't read your question good enough before answering.
If you know for sure that the computer in question is connected to Internet via the LAN-connection, you should be able to use either InternetGetConnectedState() or InternetGetConnectedStateEx()
Check for INTERNET_CONNECTION_LAN
