hi,
i m calling crystal report frm my vb.net(winforms) form.
my report contains 1 subreport & both main & sub report contains the parameter, on which record selection depends.
it is ok with my code to pass value to main report. but tell me please how to pass parameter value to subreport?
i m passing parameter values by following code-?

its easy to set parameter in the crystal report rather than passing the parameter to subreport through coding
jus try this
first take a parameter as a field in the crystal subreport
and link the subreport to the original report
u can simply do that by right clicking on a subreport
and establish a link

i need text editor which can be used in Windows form
as it shld not hv any link to MS Office 'cos at clients end
there will be no MS Office installed
so anybody knows abt third party text editor which is independent and shld work in windows form

what kind of editor want you?, i use notepad++, this editor has colored code functions to several languages, i can open severals documents in itself editor using tabs, very good editor and free http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/

I believe there is a text editor available, including source code on code project. This may be of some use and could be adapted to your needs. It deals in Rich Text Format and therefore can handle images and would be cross-compatible with word if it ever needed to be.

Hello, I'm not sure whether my question is relate to programming or operating system. Here is the information and what I need to do:
I have a computer with MODEM to connect to an internet. I want to check it when my modem is connect and disconnect from an internet. I do not know whether this information is record in event viewer or not. If not, i might need to write my own application to check the connection acitivity. I prefer to write in vb.net 2005. But i do not know where could i start. I need a document to read about vb.net 2005 and dialup connection. If anyone know any web resource which relate to use vb.net 2005 with dialup connection?

Hello,
I have a maskedTextBox and have set a custom format for inputting an IP Address.
Custom format ###.###.###.###
And have used the string replace(" ","") to remove any white spaces.
However, the dots do not come out after the user has entered the IP address
for example 12.123.566.54
Will come out like: 1212356654.
Does anyone know a better way to do this.

I am not sure, but I think the mask doesn't actually do anything with the input, it just shows the user an example.
One possibility to solve your problem (which I recommend) is to use four textboxes instead of one. Set their respective maximum lengths to 3, and use the following function to control input:

Use TrapKey with the KeyPress event of a textbox:

e.Handled = TrapKey(Asc(e.KeyChar))<br />
End Sub
With this approach you allow the user to press tab to jump to the next number, and you can play around with the look of the textboxes, if you want it to look like a single field (no borders, etc).
it may not be the most elegant approach, but remember the difference between the American and Russian space programs?

Doesn't sound like a bad idea. Being able to tab to the following text. I might make a user control based on this, as i can see myself using this again.
I am surprized the maskedTextBox doesn't already allow for this.

hi
i get trouble with my project in programming...just a lil click in a mouse then i'm done with it...
the problem i couln't search the next record even though it was successfully added in my database but it won't show also in the table.just only one record will show in the table and the rest are not found.
