If you look in the documentation you'll see the ToString method is overloaded (has several different methods with different parameters). You can feed is a string format like this: (and you don't need the initial blank string - that just creates another object to be cleaned up by the GC)
Label1.Text = dread["dt"].ToString("dd/MM/yyyy");
You'll probably find you need to cast it to a DateTime object first:
Label1.Text = ((DateTime)dread["dt"]).ToString("dd/MM/yyyy");

I am trying to create a base MasterPage class that all the other MasterPages will inherit from. This base class will have some controls so the inheriting MasterPages get those controls automatically.
My problem is that whenever I add controls to my base class it doesnt get added withing the "FORM" tag and I get errors like "Calendar control must be within FORM tag". What am I doing wrong?
this is how I am doing it:
protected override void OnPreRender(EventArgs e)
{
base.OnPreRender(e);
string Header = "<div>some text</div>";
this.Controls.Add(new LiteralControl(Header));
}
but when I look at the page it is something like this:
...
<form>
...
...
...
</form>
<div>some text</div>

Find the form tag on the master page and add the controls to its collection, not to the master pages' controls collection

our application would need:
1.import data(stock prices) from websites into a database(excel sheets)
2.interfacing excel sheets with the asp application
3.performing manipulations on the data and draw corresponding graphs(line,bar,..)
4.make the application accessible on a network

hi
i am devloping a c# web based appl. i wanted to ask as to how to retreieve data to drop down boxes.
i wanted to update details of employees.. for eg. their state of residence.
though the addition was done by way of drop down box. but now how shud i retrieve the field so that the drop down box shows the state of the employee.
to retrieve to textfields i m using this

i guess this piece of code wud assign the text box the value of the selecte item in the drop down box..
my problem was a bit different, i wanted the value from the database to be reflected in the drop down box..
sorry if i was not able to clarify myself..

Again, not very difficult to find if you look for the information
i dont want to populate the drop down list.
All i want is that the drop down lost box shows a value from the databse of a particular person.
eg. i want to update the state of residence of an employee.. on the update page.. the drop down shud show selected state.. the user is allowed to change the state...
i hope i m clear now.

Hi there,
You guys realy helped me last time in deploying FCKGrid.
Now again i m facing an issue, i have set these properties of fckeditor, to
view my images folder which lies in root directory.
basepath="~/FCKeditor/"
ImageBrowserURL="../../../images/"
LinkBrowserURL="../../../."
Can anyone help me out, with correct syntax how i can get my uploading of images workin, and preview as well.
Now when i select the image from image folder, and click on send to server,
it does nothing.

I'm having a problem displaying a Label control in a FormView which is within an UpdatePanel. The Label displays fine if the FormView is moved out of the UpdatePanel.
I'm getting the error:
Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled.
which I know is an Ajax error. I'm running Ajax 1.0
I see that quite a lot of people are experiencing the same error but so far none for the
same reason as me.

I am using login status and login control. but the problem when I am clicking log off it get log out but clicking on back button it again enter to site insted of showing login page but after refreshing get resolved.

Hi all,
Just wondering if anybody knows of a way to convert something like an .avi file into a flash file from a command line, so that a background process can do it after someone has uploaded a file to a web server, without user interaction via an interface.
