Hi,

I've a webservice server and client. I'm encrypting soap header with algorithm(SHA, DES, TRIPLEDES, etc). Now i'm trying to use WSE 3.0. To use WSE 3.0, i should get the certificate as well as i need to install WSE 3.0

But i dont want to install those. Is there any type of encryption provided by .NET 2.0 without installing any tool or buying certificate, only adding code in web.config.

I'm having trouble finding good examples that demonstrate the implementation of custom configuration sections in 2.0, using C#, that include collections, for example:

<Section1 name1="value1" />
<child value="test1" />
<child value="test2" />
</Section1>

How can I load the above custom config section and have a public property for both name1 AND a public property that exposes a collection of child values?

Hi,

i am using class System.EnterpriseServices for transaction management and i m using a strong name file keypair for strong name and keypair1.snk for strong name token and i give the key pair file name in solution explorer\Property pages\Msbuild option but when i compiled web project in debug mode its giving me error. i have paste the compelete error message.

I m confused why visual studio create random files for this and why its not running from my virtual folder if some body know about this error reply me soon

Hi I am using .net 2.0 , I am trying to validate a text box control inside a webpart zone and the webpart zone is in a page which use a master page. Ii have tried giving all the possible id of the control (ID, UniqueID & ClientID) but at runtime requiredfieldvalidator not able to fiend the textbox control. What should I do to resulve the problem ?

But, if you want to use the .NET Framework 2.0 with Visual Studio .NET 2002 or 2003, it's not going to work. You MUST use VS.NET 2005 with it.

The possible combinations are easy:

Visual Studio .NET 2002 -> .NET Framework 1.0
Visual Studio .NET 2003 -> .NET Framework 1.1
Visual Studio .NET 2005 -> .NET Framework 2.0

Can Visual Studio .NET 2005 target all of .NET Framework 3.0 or will developers have to wait until the release of Visual Studio 2007 (hopefully not Visual Studio 2008 Smile | :)

VS.NET 2005 works with the .NET Framework 3.0. 3.0 is, for the most part, a set of extensions built on top of the .NET Framework 2.0.

Issue with FileUpload control

Hi all,

I come across an interesting observation while working for a project.

We have a FileUpload control and some other input fields in the form.

we are doing validation from the server side and throwing javascript error if some condition is not satified. Java script "confirm" method is used to take user decision to go ahead with form submission with the existing values.

If user clicks ok the form is re-submitted which is making the FileUpload control selected file information lost.

Is there any alternative? could you please advice.

you shud use a third party grid like component one or infragistic which contains all the documentaion in it through you can do what ever you want,,
you also can perform update , delete and add new row actions on the grid which comes with visual studio but with programming techniques ,,,

Hi everyone

i have the problem to debug my web applications.
i m loggin through administartor account.
it is the member of debugger users,Vs developers group.
i have also added aspnet account to debugger users group.

It is some previleges problem.
error is
"error while trying to run the project.you do not have previleges to debug web server process."

from this forum itself i got solution that i should attach aspnet_wp to my application.But
it did'nt allow me to attach aspnet_wp.exe

i m using windows XP.
error comes while i m going to attach aspnet_wp.exe
Or is there any other solution for it so that i can debug my web applications.

one thing which i noticed here is that i m able to debug my windows applications. but not any web applications.

plz help me out.
i m struggling with it from 15 days.

Wondering if anyone has any insight into how one would edit code programmatically through reflection. For example I'd like to change a method's custom attribute setting if certain criteria apply.

All I need to know is if this is possible a hint on the call necessary to make this edit.

I want to create project with video abilities.
Here is short description of my needs:
Application needs to be done with .NET Framework.
Application should consist from two parts:
Client application and server application have different functionality, but they both should work with web-cams installed on their sides (client and server sides).
First part is a client application.
Client application can connect to different web – cams and see content of web – cam.
User of client application can talk to server application using microphone and listens answer from server user.
Except this, client application should have ability to save video from server side.
Server application should have similar video abilities with client application.
I analyzed different technologies for my purpose and I lost one's the head in technologies.
Please suggest me what technology best suites for my project.

I have a problem with set cursor into TextBoxes, which are usually unvisible.
After some events the TextBoxes I set some TextBoxes to visible. To set the cursor to the actually visible TextBox use Select() or Focus(), but the cursor doesn't change it's position and stay in the last TextBox, only after a minimize and maximaize action or change to the other programs and back to this program moved to the expected TextBox. Invalidate or Refresh and DoEvents cann't help. I think it's something wrong with exessive using of my internal events, because in a testprogram witout my events the cursor behave as I expected.

Scrolling in RichTextBox [modified]

after insertion some lines the vertical scroll is coming, but the RichTextBox still show the upper side and doesn't scroll to the last line and doesn't show the last inserted line. Should I get the count of lines and scroll line by line?
Info: This RichTextBox has't any focus. It's only a logging MultiLine-TextBox .

I had the same problem with a listbox: I do not know a way to have it scroll automatically
to keep the bottom line visible, so this is what I came up with (and I assume something
similar applies to a RichTextBox):

public void Output(string s) {
	lb.Items.Add(s);

	// (so we can operate the lift to concentrate on some part of the output)
	if (Control.MouseButtons==MouseButtons.None) {

BTW: the value for the top index is not correct
(it should actually be Items.Count - numberOfLinesVisibleInListbox)
but it works just fine as is, so why bother. (But the -1 is necessary).

I'm sorry if I post this here, because I cannot find the thread about Compact Framework. Well, to the point. We know that we can use custom image as the toolbox item (Framework). We just use the attribute ToolboxBitmap to set the component/control icon. But at .NET Compact Framework 2.0 I cannot find the attribute like this, does anyone know alternate way to use custom icon for the component/control (on designer for sure not runtime).

It looks likes it's not supported. BTW: The CF Forum is called "Mobile Development".

The alternative is to add a 16x16 pixel BMP as an embedded resource with the same name as the control class.

With namespace or not, e.g class name is "classA" in namespace "nsA", so on resource use "nsA.classA.bmp" or only "classA.bmp"?
