I have a aspx page which contains a combobox and button. Inintially button will be invisble. When i select tthe third element in the combo the button should be visible. i made autopostback of combo to true. I am filling the combobox on formload when page.ispostback is false. But when the page is posted back by combo i am not able to see the button. moreover the combo also becomes empty. can anyone tell the reson?

Than you probably doin' strange stuff in your page load event.

Hi all,

I want to put an download link, when viwer click on the clink the relavent file has to be download. I dnt want to manage the file in zip format. If the user uploades the file as document, he can able to download the same file in document format and save in the local system.

Plz any one suggest me..............

Actually i wanted to do other way . that is for database i am fetching max no. in integer. now that integer type veriable i will assaign to textbox in formatted way. that is if integer veriable comes 1, it should show as 000001 in text box
HOw i can do it . please guide.

how do you retreive the variable values that you post from one page, in the calling page?
that is, in PHP you can use
$variable=$_POST['control name']

is there a similar thing in ASP.NET?

I want to know of a method other than passing variables with the URL.

The traditional way of retrieve the posted value is (common to ASP as well as ASP.NET),

Dim myname as String = Request.Form("Control Name")

If you use ASP.NET's Server controls, there is no need to use the traditional way. You just retrieve on the button click event as,

Dim myname as String = ControlName.Text

'Assume that the Control is a TextBox

If you use the Server.Transfer method to move between your pages, you can also transfer your variable values using the HttpContext

Hi everybody,

I am working with Crystal Reports 9.0 and using it from Visual Studio 2005 with ASP.NET Application written in C#. The report has subreport within it.

Now the problem is that while I am trying to run the report with the DB other than Original DB with which I created Report, gives me following error.

Failed to open a rowset. Details: ADO Error Code: 0x Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server Description: Procedure or Function 'usp_MYProcedure' expects parameter '@MyProjectNo', which was not supplied. SQL State: 42000 Native Error: Failed to open a rowset. Error in File D:\WINDOWS\TEMP\MyReport {01B3207D-27E0-4335-A678-95A00B9EF675}.rpt: Failed to open a rowset.

For one of the reports, it gives Missing Parameter Values error.

i.e. the above problems occur while I am connecting the application with other DB which is exact replica of the original DB (with which I have created the Crystal Report), but with different name.

Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Whether you are uploading a 1 GB file through
1. Mail attachement or
2. File upload control

Both case to send a request of 1 GB to server, you have to tell the server that you are going to send a request having size more that 4096 KB( Becuase by default MAX request size length that you can send to IIS is system defined and it is 4096 KB)

Configure you application to tell IIS the same as following

Add this in web.Config file

<httpRuntime maxRequestLength="size in KB" executionTimeout="seconds">

Put the amount of data you want to Transfer in KB and adjust the time in seconds.

suppose i have a html table with 5 records means 5 rows.i want that when my server side code will return a html table with 2 rows to client
side javascript then how could i dynamically remove all rows from my existing html table and add new 2 rows.so basically i have to know
how could i parse server side code by javascript and add 1 row in my table one after one and i want to have crossbrowser javascript for this case.

For creating number of rows in HTML table you can do like this ...

Assume that you are getting a DataTable dTSourceTable from the server side
code

Now in HTML/aspx you have to insert server side code
