I am new to ASP.NET 2.0.I would like to know the different types of folders in ASP.NET eg: App_code.What are they meant for??

Hi! In my asp.net application, there is a folder containig 10 text files.names of files are 1.txt, 2.txt ... 10.txt. on sorting the order of the files are 1.txt, 10.txt ... 9.txt. but actual order will be 1.txt, 2.txt ... 10.txt. how i solve this problem?

Hi All,
I wish to redirect the user to the Custom Error Page, incase of any unhandled exception, for example GeneralErrors.aspx page.
In my web.config file, I have mentioned below.
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="~/GeneralErrors.aspx" />
But In any unhandled exception, it shows some error (Server Error in '/' Application), and now the URL Changed to below address
http://www.xyz.com/GeneralErrors.aspx?aspxerrorpath=/xxxx.aspx
Here xxxx.aspx is my source page which causes exception. How can I show the custom error page?

Try using mode="On".
I dont know whether you have been working in localhost/hosting server. If that is the case then you will never get the custom page when you have customError mode is RemoteOnly. In that case You must have mode="On"

Actually I wish to see detailed the error messages in my localhost, but the users who may visit my pages in the web should not see the detailed error message. Instead they have redirected to the "Error Page".
It wroks fine with mode="RemoteOnly"

hi everyone
I am modifying a MashUp project in Asp.net with C#.
I got a problem with default values in the textbox.I am not getting the solution.
problem:

Actually we are having two files Brokerreview.aspx and BrokerLogLatAdd.aspx. In Brokerreview.aspx page when we click on Mortgage Refresh button we have to go to BrokerLogLatAdd.aspx and get the location in the map.This is working correctly.
But in the page BrokerLogLatAdd.aspx when we click on Add Mortgage Information button we must update the new borrowerinformation.All the records are getting updated except the count which we require.
The problem is we are getting some values defaulty into the TextBox3,TextBox4.which are unnecessary values.. this is the problem
if you want to check the code ,i will send you
If you know the solution or any suggestions to verify the code
please reply.

Hi all,
We are developing an RSS Feed reader, In that i want to get the file creation date of an Feed. How is it possible to get the date from an host system. I can able to get the creation date of an file present in local system. But i am confused in the host.
For eg..
http://www.codeproject.com/webservices/LoungeRSS.aspx[^]
In the above URL i want to get the creation date of "LoungeRSS.aspx" file

I have problem in image ... in 5 folder each folder inside 10 image(img) files there ... when i select the folder i want to display the first image and then when i press any of the arrow key i want to display next image..... please any body have idea...

Dear All,
I am making web application using Asp.net and C#(Visual Studio 2005). In one web page . i have made three controls Autopostback property true.
Out of them two of them works fine. but I am having problem with third one. Is that one can use only two controls on a page whose autopostback true
Please Help me.

There is no restriction on how many controls in your page can have AutoPostback="true".
So something other is going wrong there.

if postback is true then atleast it should go thrugh text_changed. but flow is not going through it . what cold be reason. please guide

Firh i am using Combo Box Control(Autopostback true). I wrote the following code which work fine(this code is to select service code and fetch from database corresponding max recordno and assign 1+ max record no to textbox1 )

Seond i am using Textbox(Autopostback) true .where i want to concatenate it with textbox1.text to generates inquiryid . check for its existnace but it does not work. In debug mode. flow does not go through it.even then i made corresponding TextBox1.AutoPostBack = true; in page load event what is problem. please help

The main point lies what I feel the way TextBox autopostback event reacts.
Basically a <asp:textbox> control can do a autopostback in 3 scenario
1. Ater entering all the character in textbox, if ENTER key is pressed.
2. Ater entering all the character in textbox, if TAB key is pressed.
3. Ater entering all the character in textbox, click anywhere outside of the Textbox.
Like drop down list TextBox cant just fire server side textchangedevent as you keep entering character from keyboard one by one. If you do the same it becomes a client side event that can be tracked using anyclientside event.( onkeypress, onkeydown ... like that)
So make sure that you are initiating the postback event of the Textbox, means you are performing either of the above mentioned activities.

I didnt get what exactly you want to do.
Mathod TextBox1_TextChanged(....) event handler only starts executing if those condition is satisfied.
Just a suggestion. You can put your code( whatever you are writing inside TextBox1_TextChanged(....) ) just after populating the textbox values from database.

hi,
no,I wrote dropdownlist select event to get service id and fetch from database max of corresponing serial no. which i populate in textbox. now based on textbox text. i concatenate both field to create one inquiry id and checkfor it existance. for tha same i wrote code in textbox change event. but it does not fire as i fetching value from database.Now i am checking inquiry existance code on button. Is there any alternate so that user do not need to click button.
