Call the record set's Edit() method. After making the changes, call the record set's Update() method.

If you create a MFC dll, the DllMain will be hidden (exactly like main will be hidden in an MFC application). So, if you really need to have access to the entry point, create a Win32 DLL.

Hi everyone,

in my MDI project i have a Transfer-Operation which is configurated in a MDIChild ( FormView )
If i start the operation, it takes a lot of time.

So i want to display a progressbar with some informations. The entire ProgressDisplay will be used
in different MDIChilds, so i created a Dialog with the layout of a Progress-Screen.

Now i want to display this Dialog in my MDIChild.
I create it and make a ShowWindow(SW_SHOW). The Dialog is subordinated ( not context or overlapped )

It's displayed into the MDIChild, all components are displayed correctly, but the background is semi-transparent and the components of the View are over the components of the Dialog.

I can't open the Dialog with DoModal() because in this case, the user could place other MDIChild under it.

Does anyone have an idea?

Hi We are devolopping one project in that we give three static controls by clicking that corresponding menu item will open.Here it is required to add the colors to that menu items.Please Kindely help me in my project.

No Here when i add custom menu then menu display half part only

Automatic Demonstration Capability - ideas?

Hi there
I would like to add a Demonstration feature to my Visual C++ application. For example the user would click the "Demo" menu item, this would start executing a script and move the mouse, click buttons, display tooltips, that kind of thing.

I'm sure I've seen it done in some applications before but can't remember where. Has anyone ever seen this sort of thing before, or any ideas where I could find such a thing?

It would be so useful for me and I'm sure many others.

Usually it's a movie. A product like powerpoint should allow you to prepare a demo
that you could run from your product.

Thanks, I've looked into using Powerpoint, but having bitmaps and animation is not as memorable as seeing something actually happen inside your program.

Hello community,
have one question about L"" for unicode strings:
do i have to use this L"" for strings always, even if is only one caracter length,
also, if i have an single character to compare, something like this:

('H' == *lpsz) // lpsz is an LPCTSTR loaded from an CString
//or to use
(L'H' == *lpsz)
// and 
("H" == *lpsz)
//or to use
(L"H" == *lpsz)

to often my application breaks in this line:

// original code, my program breaks here sometimes:
while( (*wcStrToAnalyse != '\0') && (*wcStrToAnalyse != ' ') )
// i want to loop through this string before i find an first space or string end

and my project is in unicode.

if you're using LPSTR (CHAR*) strings, then don't use any.
if you're using LPTSTR (TCHAR*) strings, then use _T().
if you're using LPWSTR (WCHAR*) strings, then use L.

moreover, to debug a DLL, it must have been compiled in debug mode (otherwise, no chance to do that).

then compile all in debug mode, and set a breakpoint where you want it to stop.

For example if i want to display Favorites in List control how can i display it?
For example if i have my favorites have so many groups like VisualC++, .Net, Movies
like vise i have som many groups under that i have lot of links under eachgroup.
Now i want to display lie below

Best go for a tree view which gives lot more features and flexibility. Or
else explain ur scenario more elaborately. Like u need sub groups like folder view in explorer or something else.
