Hi.
Did anyone have experience with DB2 databse. I need to connect to DB2 from my ASP.NET (VB) application and I'm not sure how to do that. I have dvelopment machine (I work on it) and DB2 is installed on another machine.

Thanks. I've seen this one. The problem I have is that the version we have is not V.8 it's V.7 and I don't have tools to connect to DB2. Any idea?

When I connect to a DB2 (in Visual Studio 7 or 8) I add a reference to IBM DB2 UDB for iSeries .Net Provider and then declare objects like this:
Dim cmd As New IBM.Data.DB2.iSeries.iDB2Command<br />
Dim conn As New IBM.Data.DB2.iSeries.iDB2Connection<br />
Dim da As New IBM.Data.DB2.iSeries.iDB2DataAdapter
I'm not sure where you can get this or if it is free and available for download, but maybe that will help in your search.

Hi I am developing a program in VBA6 that needs to run Microsoft Excel remotely.
I can't use CreateObject("appName", "serverName") as I am limited to using VBA6.
Can any one point me in the right direction of how to achieve control over remote programs?

You can run a remote COM server. You cannot run an application remotely. It's not CreateObject("appName", "serverName"). It's CreateObject("progID", "serverName").
What's wrong with using CreateObject in Excel? It works without any problem.

Hello,
here is a function's signatures for 2 PowerPoint effects event handlers:
SlideShowNextClick(SlideShowWindow Wn,Effect ef)
The effect onNextClick is ef.
SlideShowNextBuild(SlideShowWindow Wn)
What is a current executed effect??
At the moment I have next implementation:
1. By handle SlideShowNextClick store next effect name ("xyz").
2. By handle SlideShowNextBuild execute my bussiness logic (for effect "xyz").
The problem occurs if the current slide has more than 1 effect on page and "go back" button will be used. ==> I can't catch "goback"-event, thus I can't be sure that my stored "NextEffect" is a next effect realy.
Is it possible to get number/name of current executed effect directly in SlideShowNextBuild handler?

If i make a connection to database then i could receive an error like this

I have a problem regarding button of vb6. As u all know we are able to put picture on the button but the problem i am facing is tt when i click the button i wan the button to change to another pic. Is tis possible and how can it be done? lets say the name of button is btnName. So i use btnName.picture den i not sure wat to add behind already.

Just a guess...but wouldn't you just setup btnName_Click sub and inside change btnName.picture to the source of the other image? I don't use VB6 much so I'm not sure, but you could try something like that.

ya i know is to change the btnname.picture to the source and this is oso wat i did but it dun work. i not sure is it because i done it wrongly a not.

You need to use the LoadPicture function.
For Example. Say the picturebox's name is Picture1. On the "Picture1_Click" event, use the following code.
Private Sub Picture1_Click()
Picture1.Picture = LoadPicture("c:\myapp\myimage.bmp")
End Sub

Hi,
Bind a datatable with Combobox using datasource property of the combobox. Your datatable should have the results fetched from the DB. Furthermore you can set DisplayMember and ValueMember for combobox.

Hi Everybody,
I need help related to IP address and MAC Address. I have a network device "Mini port" from Lantronix, which is used for to retrive data from serial port and send it to LAN network, my requirement is, In the initial stage it will have only MAC address known by user, I want to search for the MAC Address and assign IP address for the same like in "print server". If anybody have solution for the same, please let me know in details.

IdCode = "PT-06-0001") and the source of autogeneration is from my table in access 2000 with an autonumber field. What is the best approach in retrieving this number if user A and user B transact at the same time?

I have designed a cheque printing software,and its on network , printer in HP 1100 jet i cant programatically change paper size in VB, its as access denied tho its shared printer, any help.. i need custome paper size of 7.2 X 5.0 and HP 1100 does not show customer paper , tho i tried using Server properties and made a new custom paper

Good day all,
Using VB6, I am trying to send the Tear Off Command to an Epson LX300 printer. I have tried sending "Chr(27) + Chr(74) + Chr(144)" to the printer as the "Feed to Cutter" command, but this does not seem to work.
Any help would be appreciated.

1) roll feed paper...?
2) custom size paper...?
3) using printer object or datareport or something else...?

The printer uses roll feed paper.
I'm printing directly to the printer port.
