The final release.
BTW I saw Monsoon Wedding last night. It was very good! (It did make me cry though. I even went out to smoke a cigarette to make it stop but not even that worked.) So I know people asked you this question before but I forgot your answer. Was it an accurate portrayal of life there?

I never saw the movie, Cathy. What's it about? Is it based in India?

I don't know where it was filmed but it was about an Indian family living in India.

What's so special about an Indian family living in India? A french family living in india or an indian family living in china, I can understand, but an indian family in india?

You asked was if it about India. Not exactly. But it was about this Indian family living in India.
Sorry, I'm not very good at explaining things.
If your point was that that doesn't sound like a very good topic for a movie, I would agree, but dispite that it was very good. I would have to say one of my favorites.

I had the same problem with one of the beta's; my only bad install.
Reinstalling might help, with the beta it was my only recourse

I uninstalled the .NET Framework and then reinstalled. That fixed it.
Thanks!

Hi All,
I need to implement the same functionality in one of my programs exactly what netstat does (basically look at all the active connections to/from my machine). Does anyone know where I could get the source code for netstat (a Windows version not a *nix or *BSD version). Or where I could get a class that I could use in my code. Preferably in C# but C++ or Java will do also. Thanks in advance...

I beleive SysInternals may have something similar to what you are looking for w/source in C.

hello
how can i draw over the caption and border of a form?
i remember have seen such a thing with VC++ but can't recover it again.
I know that is looks like XP theme, but i just want to handle an annotation window (ala postit) with cool ui (consistant color)
I belueve there must exist a more lightweigth solution.
thanks

Yes you can by handling WM_NCPAINT, WM_NCCALCSIZE. I don't know any c# examples. But this is an example using C/C++
Look at Q99046

you can set the form border style to "none" and assign an background-image to your form - now you have a skinned application
of course you need to think about implementing the minimize, maximize and close buttons yourself, but you can put usual controls everywhere you want on that form...
just an idea...

Hi all,
I am desperately seeking a multi-Column TreeView component in C#. I need to build one for work and I really have no experience with building GUI components. I have seen a few examples in MFC but none in C#. Pretty much, I am looking for a component that mates a TreeView with a ListView. Would you happen to know where I can find an example?
Thanks in advance

(also call TreeListView
you can
- wrap an ActiveX control like this in CP (search TreeListView)
- use a commercial one (search VsFlexGridPro)
- Also considers it's a really cool control but consist of a lot of effort (3000 lines at least, 6 month of work)

You must override WndProc
- don't forget to call base.WndProc on need
- assign Msg.Result to control bubbling

I want to know if someone know how make something like the RectTracker in VC++ but in C#, if you want to know what is a RectTracker, it's the little rectangle that focus on a control and tell you that you can Move,Resize it.
anyone know how make this please
Thanks

A few months ago, the Visual C# team created a community site at at http://www.gotdotnet.com/team/csharp. We have some interesting content, but new stuff doesn't show up very often.
I've therefore created a newsletter associated with the site. If you sign up for it, you'll find out:
* When new content is up on the GDN site
* When we have a new survey
* When somebody from the C# team is going to be at a conference, user group, or some other event
* Other stuff I think you'd be interested in.
You won't get:
* Marketing stuff
* Fluff
* Lots of email
You can sign up at http://communities.msn.com/VisualCCommunityAnnouncements

Thanks Eric,
I just signed up and it looks to be very interesting. It's great being able to keep in contact with what's going on currently in the development arena.

In VB (I know you don't have to say it ) there was a Flash/Shockwave plugin so that you were able to include a Flash .swf file within your application. I used to like to do this for my about boxes, and would like to do this inside a C# application but didn't know how to get the plugin, does anyone know anything about this?
