I have a list view control that is populated with "text" names of files on an ftp server. I want to allow the user to drag one of these names onto an area (like a folder), and copy the file from the ftp server. Is that possible?I have the QueryContinueDrag which tells me when the mouse is released, but is it possible to know where it was released? Also, I get the no drop icon. Can I change that as well? All I need to know from the user is, which directory he wants to drop the file, and I can do the rest. So basically, I need to,
1. Make sure the user has dropped the file on an explorer window
2. what directory was that explorer window pointing to?

Tried and completed.

hi all,
i have 2 computers(their names: MFA1 and MFA2) on the same network(workgroup).
currently i am using MFA1.
and i have an ms access file on MFA2 in drive D:\ under folder foo. (D:\foo\foo.mdb)
is it possible to access (insert, delete, modify...) that mdb file on MFA2 from MFA1 using C# in a windows app.?
if possible, then how should i set my connection string ?

I can tell you but it sound like you might be alittle new to this so do this

I read once that for Access database mapping to the folder did improve preformance when accessed of a network.
But from a programming view is would be better to use something like "\\MFA2\\foo\\foo.mdb".
Because you would want your app to be able to run on any machine. Mapped drive 'A' on your box my not be the same as mapped drive 'A' on the box down the hall. Did that come out clear or what? Also, do not code in the connection string. What if foo.mdb moves to another box?

You MUST let the users have Read and Write permissions to the same. If you don't give them Write access, you can't update the database, obviously.
That one of the limitations of Access, being that it is a file-based desktop database. It's not really optimal for multi-user access. Move up to SQL Server and you'll get much better performance and greater security options.

Hello,
I would like to know differences beetween FormClosing and FormClose. I know that FormClosing is called before FormClosed but that's all. Does the context is the same ? For the application's objects is there some change ?
If you have some idea or internet link.

but I know that  . My question is more accuratley about change for the object of the form. Maybe there is no change.
Are we sure to get all the objects of the fotm with FormClosed as with FormClosing.
Is the only difference between these two events the time event occurs ?

I have dynamically created the textboxes .Now I want to add a Requiredfield validator with a txtbox.
I am trying like this:

You're not supposed to add the validator as control of the textbox, you should add the control to, for example, your form... this.Controls.Add();
further, the use if strings is a but... erhm... fault sensitive..
use ControlInstance.Name in stead of "txtReEnterPassword";

I think you need to tell the TextboxReEnterPasssword field to use requiredFieldValidator as a FieldValidationId. Try doign it first on Designview atleast you would know how it works and what are the parameters.
