The TabPages have that methode from one of its base-Classes through inheritance, i guess

As Stefan and Martin pointed out, the Hide() method is inherited from the base class and doesn't have any meaning to a TabControl. In order to "hide" a tab page at runtime you will need to remove that tab page from the TabPages property.
You need to make sure that you do this after the call to InitializeComponent(), usually in your constructor, and simply call
this.tabControl.TabPages.Remove(this.tabPage1)

mono works well but unfortunately a lot of the libraries / add-ons that you use from day to day aren't part of the c# standard and are still Microsoft's IP. I'm thinking especially of things like IIS/ASP.Net and DirectX. I doubt that these are about to get added to the mono project anytime soon. What is it that you need that Mono is lacking?

I've created an object that implements iBindingList It all seemed to work fine a few days ago and now that i come back to the code on a Monday morning a dataviewgrid attached to the list will only filter in ascending order.
The code in my ApplySort Method couldn't be simpler:
public void ApplySort(PropertyDescriptor property, ListSortDirection direction)<br />
{<br />
_sortOrder = direction;<br />
_sortField = property;<br />
Sort();<br />
}
I've checked the Sort method in a test harness and it works fine, but i always seem to be getting a ListSortDirection of Ascending passed in.
Has anyone seen this behaviour before?

Hello everybody,
I'm working on a data migration application. Actually I need to map each fields in an existing database to a new application's databse. For this purpose, is it possible to list the fields in the tables (which will be an unknown thing until the program is run.. u'll have only the database name & the table names) of both the databases(both databases being sql server).
I need to permit the user to map the fields like below..
Database1 Database2
OldTable NewTable
firstname ------------> fname
LastName ------------> lname
etc...

You should be able to get the information you required from Information_Schema.Columns
SELECT *
FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS

Erhm, yes this is possible, but I don't think you want to solve the problem this way. Have you tried converting the old db to the new db using DTS packages, it's a SQL Server thing and realy powerfull for converting data in such a manner..

These pages are meant for some other developer who would be using those pages created by me in his application.
How should i give him my pages so that they work properly with his application and I don't want him to see my coding thing.
Can I give my pages in some Component form or Web Control etc and how would he be using these pages.
