I am adding a label to my web form and I give it 150px in design mode.
I add border width=2, border color=black, border style=inset
THe text that I am writting into the label change dynamically. It can be between 2 and 30 characters.
The problem is that the label grow and reduce itself in dependance of the text width. How can I fix the width of the label

After placing the cursor in text box, calendar control should appear.

What you need is something like that:
textbox.Attributes.Add("OnClick", "javascript:...")
I hope it may help you, I didn't have time right now to write the entire code.

Hi there.
I'm currently creating a site which behaves like a kind of "wizard". So I need to pass objects forth and back between the pages in the wizard. Now this works fine passing objects forth, but I have a problem passing objects back or have the page remembering objects between post backs.
Here's some example code:

_myObject = (MyObject)Context.Items["MyObject"];
_myObject.MyString = "Hello";

protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)

MyObjects.SaveMyObject(_myObject);
}
Here's my problem:
On my web form I have a button which calls "Button1_Click". Whenever this method is called I get a "NullReferenceException" from SaveMyObject - obviously because _myObject is null. But why? In the Page_Load method setting the MyString property to "Hello" works just fine.
So my guess is that the page "forgets" the content of the context object between post backs. I guess I need to do something else. Is there some kind of solution to this problem?

Try to place the Page_Load code in Button Click, perhaps it may solve your problem

AFAIK, Context.Items is used to store values within one request. But you wrote, you can pass values between two pages, so I don't know, maybe I'm mistaken. Anyway, if you use Session object instead of Context.Items, it should works fine.

Hi all,
i have a aspx:text box, aspx:list box and an html button in my webform and when the user type something in the text box and click this value will be added to the list box, i have used javascript for this. now my problem is that, when i tried to take the items in the listbox in csharp code ( in submit button click), i dont get any value ( listbox.items.count shows zero). How can i get the values of this list box at server side code that i have populated at the client side? anyone please help me.

Hey all! ive been using ASP Ajax Beta 2 now for a few days and its already driving me crazy!!!
First of all, ill be happily dragging controls onto the my design view (scriptmanager, updatepanel, progress and so on) and it all looks good...
I switch to source view and all my ajax controls have the "red line of doom" and my error list says things like:
Error 20 Element 'ScriptManager' is not a known element. This can occur if there is a compilation error in the Web site.....
Switch back to Design view and it renders ok and builds propperly! And the other problem ive noticed is if i change any properties in design view of any control, and switch back to Source view it has screwed all the markup code up! It does things like put all the code on one line and make it very difficult to work with and i have to tab it all out again!
Does anyone know why its doing this and any solutions?

Hi Guys,
I wrote an image httphandler that works 60% of the time.
I'm trying to render 10 images on 1 page... ex. MyImage.aspx?id=1 , MyImage.aspx?id=2 etc.
Every now and again (when I'm lucky) all 10 images load, other times only 6 or 5 or some random number of images load.
The ProcessRequest method executes the same amount of random times.
Is there some setting which I should change in the web.config to handle a few simultaneous requests??
Or whats going on??

Hi friends,
I have to upload and download .txt or .doc file on server.
I uploaded files properly.
But when downloading files, if file is .doc file then it get downloaded correctly,and if I download .txt file that saved .txt file containing some html code.
If I cheched it on server directly it is showing .txt without html code.
This is my code for download.

Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", _

Why this is so.

To set your connection option to bypass proxy for local addresses
1. In the Tools menu, select Options.
2. Under the Projects node, select Web Settings.
3. Click Connection Settings in the Options dialog box.
4. In the Internet Properties dialog box, select the Connections tab and click LAN Settings.
5. In the LAN Settings dialog box, select Bypass proxy server for local addresses.
6. Click OK to close all open dialog boxes.

Thanks. How is the step to save this resume.doc? inside the save function , which step do first ? call this Response.AddHeader("content-disposition","attachment;filename=resume.doc"); first ? then only write the data into the resume.doc? and where to put the temporary file before user can save the file ? if you don't understand what i am saying , can u provide the step for me how to this save file function ? thanks !!

I have started using the GridView and SqlDataSource in ASP.NET 2.0. It makes connecting and databinding very easy. But is it not moving away from the n-tier approach, where the presentation layer does not connect directly with the datalayer?
