hi every body,
I am saleh from jordan, and i try to run exe file from an windows service,
and i try to use shell command and it is work but open the file as service
(hidden) and i want it shown for user.

Hi,

I've been trying to set security password on a existing excel, and been trying these codes:
Im Using COM for Excel 5.0

Public myExcel As Excel.Application
Public myBook As Excel.Workbook
Public mySheet As Excel.Worksheet

myExcel = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
xlsFilename = "C:\samp.xls"
myBook = myExcel.Workbooks.open(xlsFilename)
myBook.SaveAs(xlsFilename, password:=txt_password.Text)

error that i'm getting is "Member not found" and points
to
myBook = myExcel.Workbooks.open(xlsFilename)

when i try to look at the intellisense after workbooks. the only thing that appears
is Gettype.

Any other approach? or recommendation for this would be appreciated.

In office XP I do it like so:

Its not necessary to have all the following settings, but I like to leave them there

Office XP has Interop, but im running this application in NT...
if I can have it work without installing DLLs would be much better.

Hi
I'm trying to just display a simple form to inform the user to please wait while some things are happening in the background. Here are some snippets of my code:

Dim WaitMessage As New Form2
WaitMessage.Label1.Text = "Please wait while the data is being gathered..."
WaitMessage.Show()
'....some database access going on....
WaitMessage.Close()
------------------------------------

What pops up though is the window, but the label is white and doesn't display the text. If I test this with WaitMessage.ShowDialong() instead of Show(), the form and the label displays perfectly, but off course the background database stuff cannot happen while the form then has the focus.

Any ideas??

This can happen when you application is busy working and not updating the user interface. A good solution here would be to use the backgroundworker to execute the database access in the back ground while you display the message.

I have done this at work basing my code on an example I found at MSDN:

it may works

any one can help to generate reports from dynamically created datatable.
In my project i am creating datatable after processing some data and load this data in to datagrid. now when user click on print button, i want to print this grid results to printer?

How can i do this? Please help urgently..

Hello,

I am using a checklistBox. After I have saved what the user has selected, i want to be able to clear what they checked.

However, this code does not work.

ClearSelected just clears the selected status, not the CHECKED status.

A solution to your problem might be

Me.CheckedListBox1.SetItemChecked(0, False) 'Or True

Or to negate an item to its opposite value

Me.CheckedListBox1.SetItemChecked(0, Not Me.CheckedListBox1.GetItemChecked(0))

Optionally you can use the CheckedItems Collection to work with all Checked items
