I made a website in visual studio, but when i try to put it on my GoDaddy server, it gives me an error message. If you want to see the error message you can go www.mstermind1429.com. I don't post it in here, because i can't find the error message. I believe this is because GoDaddy does not have the asp.net server on it. If so could you tell me where to get that for free, and if not could you tell me what else is wrong with it? Thanks in advnace
PS. The website works perfectly on my local server.

That is not the error message itself, it's informational page. Do as it says, and you will see the actual error message.

hi,
I've to deploy my newly made assembly to client but the problem is there are around 15 sites using old assembly.
Is there any way with which I'll put my assembly in GAC
....some sites will autmatically start using new assembly
....others will run on older ones.
Presetly there are not much site , only 15, so if there is any coding change should be done.
cheers

What is the Main namespace of your assembly and should all of the websites use your newly written assembly?
And what version of .net do you use?

hi,
Actaully the namespace and assembly name is same, using this assembly already websites are running but now a new version is released.
My problem is out of 15 sites, 9 sites to use new assembly and rest should use the old assemblies.

Hi, there is a tool name gacutil.exe in the "Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\Bin" that helps you register the assembly in the GAC but before doing that, tell me if the websites use the assemblies placed in the BIN folder at the website's root folder or from the GAC?

You can't do that using only ASP. You would need a component running in the browser, like an ActiveX component or Java applet, so that you can get access to the client system.

Hi friends
I have published my site 10 days ago, but my site dos not appear in google search result.
I have registered my site in google and yahoo, but nothing has changed.
What task should I do?
I want to see my web site in search engines result.

Well,
1. Create a Robots.txt file, examples here.
2. Try a free Search Engine Submission site like this one here.
3. Meta Data, http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_meta.asp
4. Advertising and Website Promotion.
5. And visit your website allot to increase the ranking.
Try these and you should have your website on a search engine in notime.

Standard question #1:
What do you mean by "not working"?
Standard question #2:
What error message do you get?
What is the code supposed to do? Unless there is some code in the Javascript file that searches the page for specific elements and attaches events to them, your code is not doing anything other than displaying an image.

Hi,
really really hoping one of you can help with this , by helping me with my
code I want to return values to my GridView's templated column which contains a dropdownlist.
I am trying to present a list of questions in a gridview each of which can have different Answer types.
For example some questions can be answered with Yes and No and some can answered with be Yes, No, Not applicable, Exceeds.
To handle this I have 3 tables..
tblQuestion (QuestionID, QuestionText)
tblAnswer (AnswerID,Answertext)
tblAllowedAnswer (QuestionID,AnswerID)
I have a grid view that returns the values from tblQuestion(select * from tblquestion)
I added a templated field to the Gridview which contaisn a dropdown list , I now want to bind this dropdownlist to the allowable answers for each question ID (the QuestionID from that row of the GridView)
i think i need an event handler for RowDataBound as suggested by Azamsharp in his articles on GridViewGuy.com but I don't know how to write the event handler
Any idea of the code I would need to add to GridView1_RowDataBound to return the relevant values from tblAllowedAnswer to the templated fields dropdownlist
Attached is the aspx page source, Any ideas are very much appreciated.

We have a web "app" that uses several assmblies. We can get the version of each assmbly, but where does one get the version for the app itself?
Wehn we try to use Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetName().Version.ToString(), it comes back with "0.0.0.0".
