Hi Steven. I do think you'll want to trap ItemDataBound in your datagrid. You can Google "ItemDataBound" for examples.

I've submitted an article about this topic that will hopefully get posted soon that also shows an example.

it's very simple
use this function in your class file or at code behind

now on click of column_header event write the code

(i think u know what to write in this function here just bind ur grid and one more thing in this function call the sort function with required paramts mentioned above)

Change the allowSorting datagrid property to true
go to Columns property, select the field what you want to sort, write onto the SortExpression the same column datafield.

On datagrid sorting function

hai friends

im doing asp web application project using c#.net.first step in that is registration form.it will contain username,emailid and country. u fill that form and click submit button.the output is automatically generate the password and pass the your username and password through entered emilid of user.this and all i done.if the user not use the password and username within 24 hours, that record should be detele automatically, how can i do that, can anyone help me

There needs to be some scheduler service that runs in the webserver, which needs to do these maintenance jobs.

Display OpenFileDialog On click event of ImageButton using ASP.NET & C#

I want to upload image file(only .jpg, .gif, .png) on server.

But according to requirement I've to use image button to browse file.
After selecting file, on "Save Changes" button i've to upload image to server
I'm not able to display File dialog on click event of ImageButton.

Please Help..! I'm new in the .Net.

The simple answer is 'You can not'. The only FileOpen dialog you get is 'Browse' using , which creates a textbox and a button. Anything else might need ActiveX.

Hi All,

Iam having aproblem with export to Excel. What i want to do is that, I want to export the contents of a datagrid to excel-The features should be
1. Open,Save and Cancel Buttons
2. The Excel spreadsheet should be formatted to the best fit width for all
cols with header in a font Arial, SIze 10, Bold, White text color,and
Blue backcolor for the heading
3. The Excel File need only to contain only one sheet with name say 'AAA'.

Kidly put in ur suggestions and Plz help to solve this out.

I see,it is XslCompiledTransform, in vs2003 we use XslTransform instead of it. In the FAQ of that article there is some detailed info about it(its name is "Net 1.1 version").;P

I got the program working but i wasn't used to the XSL. After go'g thru the necessary docs i became somewhat familiar with that too.

Still the data from the dataset is not getting populated in the Excel sheet. As I went thru the XSl doc i came to know that
"<xsl:for-each select="NewDataSet/Table">"
The select keyword will select data from each inner node as per the depth specified. But here instead of XML file we are using dataset.
"<xsl:value-of select="ProductID"/>"
The select in here ---say "ProductID" IS it the field names that should be given as per our select commnd.

Is my problem something to do with the above.
Can u Plz suggest a possible solution for the same.

dataset is ok, i am just using dataset, u could use:

strExcelFile= objExport.TransformDataTableToExcel(ds.datatable(i),True)
objExport.SendExcelToClient(strExcelFile)

Also u have to have some polishment of ExcelExport.vb so as to run it in vs2003.

You can get that like this:
dataset.Tables[0].Rows[0][0].ToString();
This will give you the value of the first column of the first row of the dateset.
