When you do not know where the folder is, may be for the first time you could ask the user to browse for that particular folder. Then store this path in your applications information settings file (if you are using one) or in the registry. The next time, you could lookup this information and load the folder. In case of a failure event later (The folder may not exist because the user removed/renamed/moved it), again ask the user to browse for the folder.

Hi,
I think that SHGetSpecialFolderLocation, SHGetSpecialFolderPath are function you're looking for. By specifying CSILD of requested folder (CSIDL for "My Favourites" is CSIDL_FAVORITES) you can obtain full path to its location on the disk.

As Galatei told, you can use SHGetSpecialFolderPath if it is a special folder whose path is what you need. If it is "My Favourites", then check the following code sample.

Thanks both for ur reply's.for example if i have My Favourites folder in F Drive,then what should be done to display only the My Favourites folder without the Drive name to be displayed in the Tree control i.e,I want to display the one and only My Favourites folder.

Hello,
I've created an application that uses a library (.lib) which someone has provided for me. When I link this library I get a warning telling me that no debug information is available.
For example:
test.lib(test.obj) : warning LNK4204: 'vc70.pdb' is missing debugging information for referencing module; linking object as if no debug info
It's cool that the debug information is not present in the library as it's expected but I'm the type of guy that likes my code to compile without errors or warnings and I cannot find a way to surpress this.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for the response but unfortunately that's not quite what I'm looking for. The compiler options you were suggesting by your post where to 'generate' the debug information but as I'm using a pre-compiled library (which I cannot compile myself) the options don't surpress the warnings.
Can the link warnings be surpressed in some way like a compiler warning?
Example warning surpression for compiler warnings:
