Hi Apurva
The article says
we don't have to declare our controls in the code-behind page, because ASP.NET 2.0 creates a partial page class where it declares the controls for us.
Ok the control declaration is not in ode behind file now but still i am not getting what's the benifit of partial keyword in code behind file.
PLease do some explanation.
Thanks

hello its very simple thing..
but i'm not getting the solution.i'm using Sql server with asp.net
i have a table with Autoincreament column say id.and some other field
i write the query for inserting data in it.
like this
1) str1 = "insert into CMS_Login(Login_id,Login_Username)Values('','" & txtclientid.Text & "')"
when i use the above statement in Sql Server table it does not increase the value of Autoincreamented column.
2) str1 = "insert into CMS_Login(Login_Username)Values('" & txtclientid.Text & "')"
and when i use the above query then and Upload it on Client server.page give me error.
what should i do?

No need to give login_id column just send the rest columns and values in the query.

Hey,
First I couldnt find a direct database forum, but i am using asp.net, so here it goes.
I am creating a search function, and I want to search all tables in my mysql db. Now I have researched and found that this can be done simply by seperating all the tables in the FROM clause with commas, or using a UNION statement, but what I want to know is can you just select all of the tables in the db at once?
All my tables are identicle in structure, and at first i would just like to search the one field from each table.
I have tried using something like "SELECT * FROM *" but i get errors.
The main reason I want to do this is because everytime I add a table in the db I dont want to have to edit the code.
If anyone can help or even point me in direction of some good articles it would be appreciated.
Thanks for your time.

Say I have a database Members.mdf. I bind a table within "Profiles" to a GridView. Then I try to use Linq to access another table in Members.mdf. (e.g. Members db = new Members(Filepath);) Then I get a cannot access database because another program is using it error. I assume that the databind connection is in conflict with the Linq connection.
Is this a fundamental database access conflict problem or LINQ specific? And how can I get around it? Or should I just try to use either databinding or linq but not both? Thanks.

Hello people,
Situation:
I have a webservice method which calls a method inside a separate DLL to perform some database updates. That same DLL method also writes some image files to a directory created on the fly inside the webservice IIS folder.
Problem:
Writing files to a directory on disk works fine, but creating a directory on the fly doesn't. I use Directory.CreateDirectory(path) and I get access denied to path. If I create the directory manually and run the program, all image files are written inside it with no problem. I have tried giving full control to ASPNET user account but still didn't work.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Talal

I'm trying to run stand-alone application from asp.net 1.1
the code is here:
Process program = new Process();
ProcessStartInfo pInfo=new ProcessStartInfo();
pInfo.UseShellExecute = false;
pInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = true;
pInfo.RedirectStandardError = true;
pInfo.RedirectStandardInput = true;
pInfo.Arguments=argument;
pInfo.FileName=reciperouteApp;
pInfo.WorkingDirectory=workingDir["Text"].ToString();
program.StartInfo = pInfo;
program.Start();
program.WaitForExit();
The application start ok but the applicatioin doesnt work properly. the applicatioin get's culture from somewhere and it's wrong the problem occur in decimal formatin i need to use (dot). but it's (comma), this hole project works fine on my laptop but in server it's not working. if i understand correct the new process start as ASP.NET user accout, but where i can chage that culture option. i have try setting the culture option on machine.config and web.config whit no luck.
