hai,
i am having a serious problem of session expiry in the remote server.
i am using asp.net +vb.net
i hav set the session expiry as 75min in the web.config but is getting only
15min.
How could i increase the session timeout at the remote server
plz reply ASAP

hi,
i have several DDL in my page if i choose one item from a dropdownlist1 list then the relevant items are populated to the second dropdownlist2 list.
what my problem is according to some condition i have choosed values for some of the dropdownlist1,so that relevant dropdownlist 2 DDL should have list.
i done this with Ajax abd asp.
but when i choose the values for DDL1 list onload then he values are not coming for all the DDL only im getting for the last box.
all other box ready state not getting into 4.
someone please help about this issue.

Hi,
There is a rule/checkpoint in Accessibility which says that a Web page should work even when Javascript is disabled.
Currently the MouseOver effect functionality in a Web page is achieved by using "onMouseOver && onMouseOut" in javascript. Is there a way in which MouseOver && MouseOut functionality can be provided without using Javascript?
Please let me know.

What does the mouseover/mouseout achieve?
If it is merely changing colors/layout then you could use CSS with a "hover" selector.
If it is context-help, then you could make links beside every rollover place where the user could get the same information.

whn i update a row in database thru asp.net2005 web page thn the data update successfully but whn i click after tht updation in "Refresh" button into Internet explorer thn tht particular row update again.so how can i prevent this situtation.

there are three solutions
first one
use the negation ispostback command at load page
if(!IsPostBack)

update()
}
Second one
open a new page when the update process is already done
update()
response.redirect("update_ok.aspx",true);
third one
open your site onto a browser page whitout browsers bars, use a javascript function

I am experienced in C#, but new in ASP.NET. I cannot understand Web page life cycle. If I understand correctly, Web page class is destroyed every time you press the button or something. So I store my properties in ViewState. but there is a problem. I use TextBox to get keyword, which I use for database records retrieval. When i retrieve database records I add dynamically new rows to table with hrefs.

The problem is, that everything show up good, but click events does`nt work. When I click on dynamically added hyperlinks, hyperlink click event does`nt run, but page reloads and everything is gone.

When you are adding controls dynamically to the page, you need to ensure the childcontrol exists on the other call. This you can do either by adding everytime when you call the page.

how to find longitude and latiutude of a perticular place from a map??????...i have to merge a perticular icon in a map,suppose in indias map when the administrator is inputting the corresponding geographical measures.(longitude and latitude).
first to check whether the given measures are covering which area..after checking that it identifies that area is India.then it finds the inner exact position and merge the icon image there..(For this i am using gif images of background map(image1) and icon(image2).i want to merge image2 on image 1 when ever inserting the measurement in the database...)

That depends on how precisely and accurately you have to specify the location.
Every map is distorted in some way or another, as the map is flat while the earth is not. If the map is distored in the way that produces a linear coordinate grid, it's easy to calculate the location from the coordinates of the edges of the map.

Yes, I know what you mean. There is no reason to merge images to do that. Have a look at this map function that I have made recently. The blue circle is an image that is displayed on top of the map image.
