Why don't you first entirely read the file and [b]then[/b] create the StreamWriter object.
You can put the contents of the file to be read into an array first.

Hi all,

I want to match a string let say

{begin}
<img src="images/barrow.gif" align="middle"><a href="{=NavLink=}" class="topnav">{=LinkName=}</a> 
{end}

from {begin} to {end} and put it in a variable so that I can replace the value of {=NavLink=} and {=LinkName=} coming from the database...

Can you please help me to find the exact regular expression syntax..

Are you trying to parse your own markup to make dynamic links? Just use the asp hyperlink if that is the case.

otherwise, read in the text line by line and do:

myString.Replace("{=NavLink=}", "What you want here");

a general statement:

i want to manage a sound file and do pause,play with one button,
so i need to get if sound is playing then i pause it , if it is paused i play it .

hi all,
is there anyways by which i can use customized shortcut keys in C#.net2005... normally it comes as a combination of Ctrl, shift or alt keys.... but i want to use text keys as shortcut keys.. not the combination of textkeys with ctrl, alt or shift....

You can't do that as sortcut keys are always in the combination of ALT, CTL, Shift keys. Otherwise how do the system will understnad you want to type simple text of it was a sortcut key.

You could enable Form.KeyPreview, register to any of the keyboard events e.g. Form.KeyDown. Then inside the event handler check for your custom shortcut keys and do whatever you want if one of them occurs.

If you want to read the xml file then you can use dataset.readxml method to fetch the xml data to the dataset.

Hi Anusha,

You have to do casting one more time for minute on the following line:

Cast((datediff(n,startime,endtime)-
(SELECT ISNULL(SUM(DATEDIFF( n , TStoptime , Restarttime )),0)

You need to cast it again to convert this resultset in the Minute format.

Let me know in case you are not able to do that.

.dll Debug and Release Folders

Hi,

I'm trying to get my Visual Studio compile .dll file to go into the debg folder but it is not. I checked the properties of this project and from the Build tab there is an Active (Release) selection. I have another project, which is not part of this project at, when I go into the properties there is no Active (Release) selection, but rather an Active (dDebug). In the second project mentioned, my files are put into the bin/debug folder.

How do I get the above mentioned project to put the "debug" version of the .dll file into the bin/debug folder. There where I see Active (Release) I selected the Debug option, and specified the bin/debug folder, but it's still putting it into the the release folder. I don't want to use any released version right now, just the debug version.

Please can someone help me in my confusion.

Hello

1- Clean all release and debug files from your projects output folders using windows explorer
2- Go to configuration manager
3- Choose debug version and press OK
4- Go to project's properties
5- Choose build, and choose Debug version from the configuration checkox above.
6- Set the output path in the proper textbox field to the lower end of the screen and press OK

Thanks, this worked just fine.

In the properties of the project, there are option you can tick, like:
Define DEBUG constant and
Define TRACE constant

What does this mean, they both are checked for Active (Debug). Why are they checked, and when do I not check them??

Hello

This enables you to use the Debug and Trace classes to monitor your programs excution. Typically when you are in debug mode you set both to true, but when you release your application, usually you only trace through your application. For more info about Tracing and debuging rvise Trace and Debug classes in your MSDN.
