I am trying to run an lcd command on a networked server. When I run the command locally from my machine it works. If I run the command from the .bat file (uses ftp -s [filename]) on the machine directly I get permission denied.
ftp> lcd [physical path]
> [physical path]: Permission Denied
I have asked my IT department to check read/write permissions and they are supposedly set. Any idea why this would work when running on my local machine but not when running directly on the server?
FYI-have also tried UNC naming convention instead of physical path - still get error.

I am working on remote machine,
first time I am able to login , but secong time I try to login I get this error
ERROR_CTX_WINSTATION_BUSY
7024
the requested operation cannot be completed because the terminal connection is currently busy processing a connect operation
Can anybody help me to resolve this problem.

VPN Client ------------------ VPN Server (W2k3) ---------------- DSL Router ------------------ Internet
10.0.0.2 (255.255.255.255) 10.0.0.1 (255.255.255.255)
192.168.1.2 (255.255.255.0) 192.168.1.1 (255.255.255.0)
The problem ist, VPN Client cannot reach the internet.
I want to make VPN Client reach the internet.
How to do that ?
Something with route command in W2k3 ?

Try to change to 10.0.0.x and subnet mask is 255.0.0.0

MapViewOfFile Fails with error message "Not enough storage is available to process this command". Can any one explain the reason for the above messsage.

Hi,MapViewOfFile Fails only when ur application continuously do that or systems virtual memory is low.Is ur application continuously doing MapViewOfFile?.If u r doing so u have to ummap the previous Mapped views using UnMapViewOfFile.But u can use the same handle which u got from CreateFileMapping/OpenFileMapping api.

First of all, thanks for the reply. Application is not continously using MapViewOfFile. Probably what I feel that systems virtual memory is low which is causing the failure.

You're probably trying to map a file that's larger than the largest block of contiguous free address space in your process. For example, trying to map a 2GB file in one go will always fail on a 32-bit system. Map the file a smaller piece at a time.

Even I feel the same..Probably trying to map a file that's larger than the largest block of contiguos free address space is causing the failure. But the problem is that it is not continous. Sometime problem comes when trying to map 32MB of memory and sometimes 80MB of memory.
So I am not able to come to a conclusion and what should I try?

I have something of a problem. I have a standard ACL dump for a particular directory tree on a Windows 2000 server. I need to check a number of other servers, dump the ACLs, and then compare them with the 'standard' dump.
I have tried dumpsec, cacls, showacls and a number of others, and am having real trouble finding either a tool which will perform the comparisons for me, or a tool that will provide an easily parseable output so I can perform the comparisons myself.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

If the ACL file is just a flat text file then have you tried a diff program? Something like WinDiff? WinDiff[^]

I can do a flat text compare, but unfortunately acl outputs are not effective permissions, they're literal. For example:
Administrator: Full Control
and
Administrator: Full Control, Read
are effectively identical, but plain text comparisons aren't intelligent enough to work that out.

Hi all :
is that possible to fill-in XP register's value or modify XP OS files in DOS mode ? i would like to try to skip windows booting process when enter 98 DOS after windows booting at first time, and let system resume from standby mode.
process :
1.power on system
2.enter XP
3.standby
4.wakeup system (resume from standby status in DOS mode, u may see dos cmd line)
5.enter XP dosktop directly after few seconds.
is this possible ??

It's not possible to edit the registry in DOC mode using the stuff that comes with XP. You have to have some kind of utility that runs in DOS mode to edit the registry. I'm not aware of any utility that does this.
Also, let me get this straight... You want to boot the machine to a command prompt BEFORE Windows starts, standby the machine, then wake it up and finish booting Windows?? Is this correct?
Why on earth would you want to do this?

the idea just for testing M/B if system could resume well. this may reduce testing time......just an idea and wish it works !!

The support built into the M/B is only part of the Suspend/Resume solution. The other parts comes from the CPU and O/S. Without the full support being tested, I don't see how the test is valid.

Hi, I use this command: dsadd ou "ou=Test, DC=Example, DC=Com" to create an OU name Test in Example.com domain controller. And now I want to create OU name Test1 in OU Test that I just create. I try this command dsadd ou "ou=Test1, DC=Example, DC=Com" but when I view in AD computer and user, I found Test OU and Test1 OU reside in the same level.
So, how could I use the command line to create OU within an OU that I just created?

Hi I use window 2003 enterprise version as a server (with domai controller). from two day I can not access any users & also any users not
access me ( from Run dialog box as \\192.168.0.100 ). Error is occured network name no longer available.
I also not access domain controller security policy and firewall setting .
Error is occured network name no longer available & U have not appropriate rights for access.
but all machine in LAN access Internet from that server with jana server .
plz give me your ideas.
