Hi,
Im using compact framework on VS 2005, Im binding a combobox alright, but I want to insert a new item at zero index, like on windows I used to: ComoBox1.Items.Insert(0,new ListItem("0","Select"));
but there is no ListItem in compact framework.
I am not able to insert that new item at an index, when I do a Combobox.Items.Insert(..... Vs gives me (int index,object obj).
How do I insert that 0 index in compact framework???
please help.

Hi saud_a_k,
Object means it may be any thing like string,int,char,class........
If u want insert an string at o index in combobox
just use insert method:
combobox1.Items.Insert(0,"Select")
Use this it will works

I am trying to edit a globalized resource file, by creating a new resource file and overwriting the old one. But I get an error:

"An unhandled exception of type 'System.IO.IOException' occurred in mscorlib.dll
Additional information: The process cannot access the file "Resources\resource.en-US.resources" because it is being used by another process."

I understand I am using the current file, but I try to release the resources first. Here is my code: Thanks for any help!!

Hello everyone.
I'm currently developing a winforms application in C# which adds
multiple users to an OranizationalUnit with one mouse click. Also the
homedirectory is set using the System.directoryservices namespace.
Everything works fine.
Now i need to enter the Terminal Server User Profile Path and Local
Path. I've been surfing around the web for a while and found one
article from a user named SG.
This is what I made of it:

On the last line, it throws an exeption: "specified cast is not valid".
The DirectoryEntry, m_DirectoryEntry, is created this way:

objUser.Properties["userPrincipalName"].Add(strUserPrincipalName); <br />

explain to me why I get the exception thrown? Or even better, does
someone have a better example of how to use IADsTSUserEx in C#/VB.net?

I Installed visual studio .net on window 2003 enterprise version . it is not

Hi,
Did you installed the framework which comes with the studio ? If no then the studio might not be compatible with the framework.

Hi,
If you have multiple frameworks installed, then also such kind of errors come. BTW which type of Application you are facing problem in ? I guess ASP .Net. If yes please check which version of ASP.Net engine is currently active on the IIS.
use aspnet_regiis.exe for this. but please read all the options available in the same command before running it. you might uninstall the wrong version increasing your problems.

The .NET framwork can be supported by any platform that has an implementation.
For Linux, you have the MONO implementation.

The .NET Framework is Windows only. It is the name of Microsoft's implementation of the Common Language Infrastructure. You can find more on it here[^].
Mono is a seperate implementation for Linux.

I tried this code; it works
TextBox obj=new TextBox();
propgrid.SelectedObject=obj;
But when i declare array of object then then try to pass its element to SelectedObject property, the grid don't show anything(like pointed to null)
TextBox []obj=new TextBox[2];
propgrid.SelectedObject=obj[0];
Plz help me what goes wrong int his case.. why its not taking element of object.

Hi,
I'm using .NET framework 2. I have a config which uses the file attribute like so:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<configuration>
<appSettings
file="External.config" >
</appSettings>
</configuration>
and External.config contains all my app settings. When I update some settings and write them back using the Configuration.Save method, all the settings get written to the app.config and not the External.config. Is this by design or is there an option I've missed?

In the deployment project of my application, in the file system property, I have added a "custom folder" which I want to use for application data that may or may not be different than the application folder. Both "application folder" and my "custom folder" have the same default location. The "application folder" has a read-only dynamic property called TARGETDIR and my "custom folder" was given a dynamic property of DATADIR.
If all is left alone, the setup will create all subdirectories in the right place.
However, how can I allow the user to specify and alter the DATADIR dynamic property by specifying a different directory other than the default location in the same way as it is done in the user interface for the application "Installation Folder" during setup?

You won't. It's not supported.
Only the .NET Framework 2.0 supports targeting 64-bit platforms. And, no, you can't use the .NET Framework 2.0 with Visual Studio.NET 2003.
