Actually, there was a java forum on CP, but it's now hidden. But I don't think it's difficult for you to search for a place similar like CP.

Dear all,
I new in using asp.net 2.
I create a web site with authorization access to a specific folder “login.aspx” page. I do this by new technology “Asp.net Configuration tools”. I create users and enable roles.
When I run the application Visual studio there is no problem at all. When I want to enter the restricted area login.asp page appear. I enter a user name and password. So I can enter.
But, the problem is that when I want to access to the restricted area by using internet explorer I had the following message. And the login.asp page did not appear.
“Cannot open user default database. Login failed. Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'”
How Can I solve this problem.
Thanks

I think that if you Disable "Anonymous Access" and Enable "Integrated Windows authentication"; on the IIS virtual directory, it will solve this.
"NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE" is probably the user specified for anonymous access.

Ok I have an Access DB and access it through the Detailsview control.
One of the fields in my database is myID which is set in access to autonumber. In the Detailsview control "myID" field has been added as read only. When I press "New" to insert a new record the detailsview enters edit mode.
Problem:
myID field does not show, can set "visibleoninsert" to TRUE
How do I enter a new record a new record and have the autonumber incremented for me???
I thought I would check the MAX number and add 1 then right back but to do this I need to catch the New Event.
Any Ideas???

If the myId is an auto-number column then you don't need to specify in the insert mode when you want to create a new row. That also means, you do not need to have a field to input for this value in the insert form.
|
|
|
|
|
If that was the case it would not error on insert...
Unless I enter the next numbrt it fails...
I will look into it further...
Thanks

Dear readers,
is there a way to get the size (especially the height) of a datagrid, after i databind a source to it? I need this to know in order to measure the space which is left on the page up to a specific pixel height.
Thanks in advance
Jens

You can make use of the Height Property of your datagrid to retreive its height.
Thanks and regards,

Thanks Suresh for your answer,
if i set the Height of the Datagrid i can retrieve it afterwards, yes. But what i need is the actual height of the table, the amount of space it takes when it is rendered. For example if i have multiple rows in the table which are higher than the default height of a row, the whole table gets higher, because the height of the table is determined by the heights of its rows. And i want to retrieve the height of the table after the datagrid is databinded.
Thanks in advance
Jens

I am not sure whether the datagrid is having the feature of creating a new record. But you can achieve is two ways:
First one is get the field values from the user, insert the record in the database and then again bind the datagrid.
Second way is that create a blank row for the datagrid and allow the user to create a row for that.
