Isn't the AccessDataSource control only used for a static source file and not a SQL service?

No that was an example. I however am using a SQL 2000 Database and need to reproduce the same thing that example code was doing.

I need to put a parameter from an input box where the 1 is in [IDENT]='1', I know the syntax for the parameter but I don't know how to pass a user-entered parameter to there.
I need something that does this...but works:
Please Enter an ID<br>
<input name="selection" type="text" id="selection.value">
<input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit">
...
SelectCommand="SELECT [OVERVIEW] FROM [DOCPROJ] WHERE [IDENT]='%" + selection.value + "%'">

The answer is the same as I've stated previously. Use Server Controls instead of HTML controls and configure your datasource to use the value from the textbox in the select statement.
Also, in the future state your problem clearly in the first place. You will get an answer quicker and no waste everyones time

Your answers are ambigious, I don't know what you mean by Server Controls how to configure my datasource (which is SQL not Access) to use the textbox...it was my problem in the first place.

The answers are not ambiguous.
Show some respect to this forum and the people in it who try to help, do some research on your own first before asking questions you don't even understand how to ask. If you don't understand the difference between server controls and html controls then pick up a book, use msdn, whatever, don't expect people to do everything for you.

Don't answer my questions or the post if you haven't:
A. Read the post to begin with to understand from the beginning I'm using SQL and not Access, and to understand that some code were posted as examples. Basically Learn2Read.
B. Have an answer to the post, not just "go look at MSDN"
Your posts were just forum trolling and nothing more. I've checked MSDN, I've posted here a month before with no success, and I've read countless sites and articles from (datagridgirl.com to .edu sites on ASP).
I am looking for someone familiar with Datagrids, not someone to tell me to look somewhere else, thanks. 
I'm sure I'll have to repost this question a month later thanks to you filling it up with dribble-drabble and off topic posts. And I'm sure you'll keep filling it up after this post, neither answering anything remotely on topic or relating to datagrids and parameters to begin with; but rather defending your "helping" to get more posts for some reason. So please save me the trouble and don't respond anymore to this thread Mark Nvnairnaind because you are not helping.

Again thanks for the useless reply Mark Nischalke. If you had taken any time to read the questions I posted etc. You would have known I was looking for just one simple answer to one question: How do you link a parameter from a text box to a parameter in the datagrids SELECT statement.
Obviously as for "needing more help" you should pick up a book sometime and maybe take some pills to address your A.D.D. problem.
And thanks for the life lessons Mark Nischalke I'm sure you go out and take a class on programming problems anytime you have a problem, probably due to the fact people like you provide no valuable input at all on these forums.

Look, you have been on Code Project for 2 months don't go spouting off about unhelpful posts.
Your first post did mention about using SQL Server yet the example you gave earlier said "The code should look something like this example" which used an Access file. Look at the guide for posting questions; State your problem CLEARLY.

EPDQ it is the term use by Barclays Bank for Integrate the web site to the bank server where it will detect the money for Online Transactions’ what we have to do is we just need to passed the variables to the other server with ‘Post method’ the server check the card geniuses and I ill detect the money from the user account.

hi all,
there is problem with atlas pls can any one solve it
one thing which i fond is that when i click the Back BUTTON of internet explorer (IE) and i move back to previous page i h lost all the values in different control on this page
now user have to add new value again on this page if he only came back just to change a single value
do any one have solution of this problem

The back button makes the browser go back to the previous page. Atlas, and javascript/AJAX in general, do work client side without every doing a postback. That means, you guessed it, pages are never loaded so the forward and back buttons on the browser do not work. That and linking are the major drawbacks of AJAX. As far as I know there is no way to make the browser's back button work in a way you describe. However, you could make a back button on the page itself to do this. There is no guaruntee that the user won't try to use the browser back button though. AJAX is very cool and powerful when used properly, with a problem like you are having perhaps you should reevaluate whether you should use AJAX or not.

I have downloaded a control for AJAX called ComfortASP. Now ReadMe file tells me to copy ComfortASP.dll into "Project's DLL folder other than Bin".
Please let me know how to create a Project's DLL folder other than Bin.

I think where ever you put that in the web folder you just need to give the correct reference to that DLL..

Can anybody help in getting the node name and node value from a XML to two arrays
that is nodename in one array and node value in another array. even if there is no value for a particular node then also the array of the nodename should be there in one array and the other array should be empty.
