hi all

My Doubt might be a simple one .... how can we display the message Box in the center of the parent window?? i am passing 'this' in the arguments ... still its displayed in the center of the screen , not in the center of the parent window ...

Can anybody suggest an idea??

I dont think that this is possible.
But you could always do your own MessageBox with a Form.
Example:

Form f = new Form();<br />
f.Size = new Size(100, 100);<br />
f.StartPosition = FormStartPosition.CenterParent;<br />
f.ShowDialog();<br />

Hy,
My idea is this. Suppose you have a windows form named frmMain and the TextBox txtTest. At form load event place this code:

txtTest.Left = frmMain.ActiveForm.Width / 2 - txtTest.Width / 2;<br />
txtTest.Top = frmMain.ActiveForm.Height / 2 - txtTest.Height / 2;<br />

Also at design time set the Anchors of txtTest to Right and Down. It should work.

I'm monitoring the disc drive of my computer, now, when a CD was inserted, i want to check wether the disc is an audio disc or not. Is there a simple way to accomplisch that?

Hi all,

I finally got it right to populate a listview with all the availible printers. I want to user to be able to say:
When there is a report to be printed use this printer,
When it is an invoice/slip use this printer.

So now i can display all the printers and have the user select it according to their needs. But i only have the names of the printers thanks to this code:

I want to know if having the name is enough or would i need the path of the printer aswell?
I want to be able to send a file, like pdf and html, directly to the printer that the user selected.

Okay, i figured out how to get the path of the printer and added that into the listview as a SubItem.

as the user selects the printer, i store the path in the DB.

1. Is it possible to send a file(pdf) directly to the printer using the Report Printer(that the user selected)? <if it is a report that needs to be printed>
2. Is it possible to send a file(html) directly to the printer using the Slip Printer(that the user selected)? <if it is a slip that needs to be printed>

You must search it manually (recursive).
Node -> ChildNode -> ChildNode -> ...

For example I receive a RING command, now I want write a "A" command for answering.
serialPort1.WriteLine("A") do't do this work.
why?

Keep your question in one thread...

It works.. just use your code and use com port toolkit
to capture your data.

Try Write not WriteLine.

I got exception System.nullReferenceException in NUnit, when i use database initialization code.

I am using ASP.Net 2.0 with C#.

There is no error in Code. The same code in VS 2003 has been successfully test by NUNIT.

Hello. I have 2 table. I wrote below codes but after delete command parent row have been deleted but chid rows haven't been deleted from "B" table. Is there any wrong thing for relation or delete automation?

I am developing c# application, using SQLite c# wrapper.
Please read the query:
Insert into Employee Values('John',35)
Using the above Query I am able to insert once only.
But I wanted to insert many values supplied thru runtime in a method .
Ex:
Public void InsertData(string name, int age)
{
?

}
How is it possible?

curious: combo loading speed

We performed some tests and:

loading a combo with a pre-sorted ascii-file (read in, split, and add item one by one)

is about 3 to 5 times faster then

selecting from a (Access) database and setting the DataSource, DisplayMember and ValueMember properties.

Can anybody explain why?

Reading a text file has little overhead. The libraries for the operating system file functions are already loaded in memory, and are highly optimized for a simple task. When you read from a database, especially MSAccess, other files are loaded to communicate with the different layers between your application and the .mdb (i.e. OLEDB or ODBC drivers).

mmm, I thought in that direction, but actually when I debug the application, calling the DataSet isn't what takes much time, its setting the DataSource that takes much time. That's also the thing that surprises me, because you actually only set a reference no?
