Hi! tere is a data grid. when we clicked on a row of datagrid on client side then we can get its row index by e.item.itemIndex in ItemDataBound event of datagrid. now i want to find cell value or cell index of a particular cell of a item when we clicked.

Not working.
Suppose that we clicked at cell no 2 on row no 3. then i want to find cell index or value for cell no 2

Try this
In ItemCommand event ->

e.item.cells(1).text

1 is used for 2nd column.

not working! i want when i clicking on second cell then i will get its column index on a particular item

in one of my project i have to download some files in a particular folder from server to client machine. for that i have craeted an object of the directory and iterated through the files using the file system object. and set the hyperlink for each files to download. this code works very niceny in my pc and when i upload this program to server, and access the application using a browser i am unable to download the file. i can see the name of the files ans hyperlink but i can't download.
does anybody had similar experience. plese give any alternative methods.
i have tried response.redirect() also ; but not working.
can u give any example of download method of webclient object.
pls help thanks in advance.

I hope I am in the right forum. My data type column from the table ClockIn_Date is DateTime. The dropdownlist seems to select distinct date+time. I want to only select distinct the date and not inclusive of the time. What is the correct sql statement?

SELECT DISTINCT ClockIn_Date<br />
FROM         dbo.Stud_ClockIn

Do not provide height and width of the image. It will appear in its original size iteself.

Hi,

I want to automatically generate a unique code based on a text field, eg if i type in carrots i want to generate CAR001. Anyone can help, will it work the same in ASP as with normal windows based forms?

How do you mean in normal windows based forms? You'll need to hold some record somewhere of the already used codes and write a bit of logic to create your code...

im using ASP.Net 2.0, pretty new to it so not quite sure. im not using the sqldatasource controls. im binding a gridview with a dataset. so id have to first check the dataset? im not to sure. but i want to know if theres an example to generate the ID i was talking about.

for example
when page load check the value of the variable and then crate wizard steps equal to the value of variable and then set the property of each step.

Here is a simple example of programmatically creating wizard steps. The trick is to create the steps in the PreInit event of the page.

Hello

I got exception System.nullReferenceException in NUnit, when i use database initialization code.

I am using ASP.Net 2.0 with C#.

There is no error in Code. The same code in VS 2003 has been successfully test by NUNIT.

i m developing a web application using asp.net c#, How to stop saveing my web page on client side.
For example as in yahoomail, when you go back in history of web browser only the login page is there.
