Hi All,

Anyone knows how to format email msg body so that it matches with word document?
For example. The word document is using centered text-align, how do I create the msg so that it will send with centered text-align as well?

Yes you need to write out HTML and don't forget to set the body format to HTML. Then use a div tag or table tag and set the style property.

Thank you, but how do you know what the text alignment that word uses?
For example:

paragraph 1 (left)
Paragraph 2 (center)
paragraph 3 (right)

Hi If I click on the new row in my DataGrid, I can see that I have a new row
with cells with NULL values. But if I Tab to the new row the same thing
doesn't happen, it seems like it isn't a new row. And I want the to be able
to Tab to a new row. Can I raiseevent to event myGrid_Click so the same
thing happens as if a user clicks the new row. If I can do so, please tell
me how if I can't please tell me what to do instead. I have tried to change
the CurrentCell in the method Positionchanged for CurrencyManager, and than
I can Tab to the new row, but when I use Tab again I go back to the row
earlier.

m developing a Searching project in VB.NET 2003.

I want that after installing this project on machine, when user click the program to run, first It should ask for the Installation CD Then run the project, like it happens in Game CDs. I want to do this for the Piracy reasons. How can I do this, Kindly help me

new here and need some help
i did not learn vb but i need to code a project wif vb @_@

i set a button to start the validation of a textbox input of something to match a field from database, did a If and else for different situations when user input nothing or invalid stuff.

so, after that
how do i retrieve the data from the database and display the info in textbox in the windows form?

i also need help in using datagrid to connect to a database which i have and display the information from the database

thx a bunch n i need them err....asap if possible since i only haf 2 weeks to begin wif @_@

noe where can i get examples for using vb software?
sry fer da trouble. been looking but cant find yet.

As far as I recall, the Code Project tutorial I referenced was written with C#.

Use "VB.NET and C# Comparison" cheat sheet from (I think) www.harding.edu[^] but in case it wasn't, Google for it.

This should help you to understand what is happening in both C# and VB.net, but as you are just learning, consider downloading the Microsoft PDF e-book that is available to registered users of vb.net 2005 Express Edition.

Also, you might like to get a copy of "VB.NET Fundamentals" from http://www.pdsa.com/[^] this is a free e-book that comes with source code. As I understand, you are required to register with them before they let you have a copy to download.

Hi there.

If you use an Access database here is an example on how to use it.

First add a reference to ADODB.dll

Declare database connection varaible as follow:

Private cnDatabase As ADODB.Connection

Open the database. Note that the DatabaseName must be the full path of the database.

cnDatabase = New ADODB.Connection
cnDatabase.Open(DatabaseName)

Fetch data from the Database:

Dim rsRecord As New ADODB.Recordset
Dim strSql As String
Dim tempValue As Object

strSql = "SELECT * FROM " & TableName

rsRecord.Open(strSql, cnDatabase)

With rsRecord
If Not .EOF Then
tempValue = .Fields("FieldName").Value

Save data to the database:

How can I track the mouse movements when the combobox has dropped down. The mousemove event does not fire after the combobox has dropped for selection.I want to know what item the mouse is over?

Hi all

I'm moving an VB6 app to .NET and i'm faced with the following problem:

Having the following stored procedure in SQL SERVER 2000, that returns a dataset (Read only) AND has an OUTPUT parameter at same time, which of the command methods should i use, since it seems that ExecuteReader (Thats seems to be the only that returns a rowset) doesnt update the OUTPUT parameter.
Im I missing something?, Is there Any work Around?

I hope you want to receive 2 result sets. So you can use DataSet for executing your SQL procedure. Normally Dataset return result sets as Tables.

So from the above, you will get 2 tables, you can written the code like below and retrieve both the resultsets,

Dim DA As New SqlDataAdapter
Dim DS as new Dataset

DA.SelectCommand = {pass your Command object}
DA.Fill(DS)

dim intMaxIndex as integer
intMaxIndex = DS.Tables(0).Rows(0).Item(0)

For intIndex = 0 To DS.Tables(1).Rows.Count - 1
{within this loop you can get each record/field values by
DS.Tables(1).Rows(intIndex).Item({field name})}

Hello, I am new to VB and need help on a specific question.

I need to know if there is a find function in VB so that I can terminate a loop. Example, suppose I need to find all tildas (~) in a file from start to finish in MS-Word. I would like to use a find function (if it exist) in my test condition so that the program exits the loop when the last tilda is found. Below is a for loop that I hard coded to repeat so many times but I would prefer doing it a better way. Help is appreciated.
