Okay, I checked the last couple of pages, so hopefully this isn't a dupe.
As of today, email notification of replies to posts (Lounge, specifically), is still sporadic, has been since the new design was put online. Sometimes I gets 'em, sometimes I don't.
Figure you guys probably already know about this, but thought I'd report it just in case, for the same reason that sharks don't eat lawyers.

Of course I have no idea since I don't work for CP. However, I think "it sucks" is a bit harsh. Let those who have no bugs in their own code cast the first stone. It was a major upgrade. They'll get it worked out.

I really wondered at the fact, that I got the Silver level when I reached 500 messages for just two or three days and then I was Bronze again.
Isn't that funny?

Bronze is correct. You get bumped to bronze as soon as you post 1 message, and that counts as the level bonus for your first 500. So you have to post another 500 (total 1000) to get to silver.
Or you could just wait and you'll reach gold eventually

I was "dang near blind" when I was 7 years old, and during the last 47 years my situtaion has not improved. As a result, I have found that setting the Tools|Internet Options|Accessibility setting to "Ignore font sizes specified" and "Ignore font styles specified" to "Checked" in IE6 has been useful (along with changing the font to Arial) for *most* websites.
With these settings, most of the websites I visit "re-wrap" text to fit my browser window nicely, but CodeProject doesn't. As a result, when I use the "cntrl scroll wheel" on my mouse, I either have to accept a "too small" font size which includes the left-hand "frame" in my browser window, or a "too large" font size which requires me to scroll left and right in order to see the line of text I'm trying to read.
What I'd like to do...
1) View all text and graphics related to the article I'm reading at a font size of 12 or 14 points (without scrolling left and right).
2) See the left-hand frame (for bookmarks, etc.) by scrolling left.
Some (potentially useful) info:
Screen resolution 1024*768 (have good graphics card, so can go higher, but typically makes all fonts "thinner" and tougher to read).
Browser: IE6.X (most recent non-beta release).
OS: WinXP Home
Does someone here have a set of viewing parameters that will optimize my "CodeProject Experience"?

The problem is because we use absolute instead of relative fonts. I'm in the process of redoing all of this (only 6 years too late) but increasing font size and ensuring layout remains decent can often be mutually exclusive. But I know reading messed up layout is better than not being able to read nicely laid out text.
At the risk of a total cop-out can I suggest a much, much nicer solution: IE7. IE7 has a zoom function that doesn't increase font size but instead magnifies everything: text, graphics, form elements - the lot. IMO a much nicer solution than simply increasing font size. In any case you may want to check it out

Opera's had this functionality for years. WIth very few exceptions it manages to zoom without inducing horizontal scrolling, or fubaring the layout.

Was FF 1.Xs zoom as capable? I remember it being alot flakier but that might just've been CPs old design not zooming as well.

Thanks for all your suggestions! I just downloaded FF 1.0.5.1 (I had previously installed 1.0.0.7, but it "broke" somehow so I had stopped using it). It completely solves my original problem (text enlarges *and* reflows  )
Now for a (rhetorical) question...Why isn't there a context menu (right-click)choice of "Send To..." *for a URL* that accesses the appropriate shortcut to whichever browser you choose? If that option was available, it wouldn't be such a PITA to use a "non-system-default" browser for those times when I know FF is better than IE.
The concept works great for *files*...I don't always want to open a ".cs" file in Visual Studio, so I stick shortcuts to NotePad, WordPad, a Hex Editor, and a lightweight programmer's editor in the "Send To" subdirectory...sweet!

I like very much of indentation of messages in threads of CP Forum. I wish what has too "TreeView" plus and minus like controls in order to hide/show messages or replies. Actually, when we click in message title, displays the message text (it's nice). I think what before the message title, appears too the minus/plus buttons to hide/show the replies.
Other cool feature is show in the end of title the first level replies count. My idea will be like this:
+ Treeview-like message threads (3)
The plus signal in the left to collapse the replies and the (3) in the right to show the replies count

I'm using Internet Explorer 7 beta 3. I'm always sign in, then I have tried sign out in order to register my friend and I can't!
Then I changed to Firefox 1.5.0.4, and I can sign out, but the link to Join, where is??? I'm blind or this link disappeared. In order, appear:
Email[textbox] Password[textbox] Remember me? Lost your password?
How I do to register now???

Solution:
1. Go to main page
2. Find big orange link that says "Join Codeproject" (center, near the top)
3. Click link
4. Fill out form
5. Enjoy CP membership

When i m not sign in & find some forum for which i can answer then boton links display [sign in] for [reply].
& after sign in i m not back to that forum but start with home page.
so after sign in plz redirect to page where user come from.

1. The forums in the menu should really be in alphabetical listing. It would make things a lot easier.
2. When modifying a message, it would be nice if the message and signature were reseparated. In case HTML tags were being used in one, but not the other. You'll probably need a sig tag to parse. Good job on hiding the MODIFIED text in the subject so that we can't remove it. And also for deleting the timestamps associated with the. Much obliged. It was CPhog all along. It's dead now and works the old way.
