By default a Service will not display anything on a visible desktop so what you are seeing (or not seeing even) is normal.

You really should not have ANY user interface within a service as typically a user will not be around to click on any button that may require input, thus hanging your application.

You could if you really need to, enable the "interaction with desktop" flag in the Services control application.

Go to 'START | Run', type in 'services.msc', select your service from the list, right click and choose 'properties' from the menu. Go to the 'Log On' tab and choose 'Local System Account' and then check the 'Allow service to interact with desktop' box.

But don't be surprised if it hangs on a customers PC...
