Well this is the problem the validators work fine but i wanto change the label color when field that i want to validate is invalid. The problem is tha i donot want to do this in the server side but in the clientside.
Can anyone help me.

well i missed to say that i am using asp.net 2.0 well i puted the code in a small example page width that code but the problem is that i gives me a javascript error an o quote "'ValidatorUpdateDisplay' in undefined".

Scenario:
- I have session state variables being saved and loaded from an ASP.NET page.
- I have session state variables being set from within a UserControl that exists on that same page.
Problem:
- When I set a session state variable within the codebehind page of the UserControl and the page performs a postback I am unable to access the session state variable that was set within the UserControl during the OnInit method of the ASP.NET page that the control is on?
- I am checking this by enumerating the session state variable collection for the page at both the OnInit and OnLoad methods of the page and the controls session state variables are not available at either. However, after the page has loaded I look at the trace information and see that the user controls session state variables are there (but not in the collection during the pages OnLoad event....)
Question:
- In regards to the accessability of the UserControls session state variables on the page: Are the session state variables loaded into the pages session state collection during the loading of the control itself (which is why I cant access them during the OnInit phase of the Page itself?)
- Shouldn't Session state variables be accessable to the page and all children controls of that page for that user?
I'm going to try to move some of the code that uses the session variable to a later rendering phase of which it's accessable however there is some things I'm doing that have to be done in the OnInit, OnPreRender, etc. page load phases...

The user control doesn't have any separate session variables, there is only one Session object for the request.
If there is no session variable, it simply hasn't been created yet. You have to wait until the user control has been created.

You know what to do yet you chose to ask the question? Anyway, you'll never get lost doing that.
Just access the HttpCookie in the Pageload event. I suppose during init, variables havent been created yet.

yes you need to create class for Itemtemplate which use ITemplate Interface and in that class use Table control as ur template control and you can pass properties of table in constructor when calling template.

We have an intranet site where meetings can be booked and displayed online.
Someone has asked if if it possible, some how, when a meeting is added if it could update outlook calanders on certain peoples computers.
Is this possible?
And what would be involved in such a procedure?

Whom's outlook do you want to update? In outlook you can send an invitation to a meeting to another outlook user. If the receipient click's a button to attend the meeting, then the meeting will be added to the persons recipients calendar in outlook automatically.
If you want to pull the meeting data from your intranet site's database and update Outlook calendar's where needed, I'm sure that is possible as well with the Outlook Integration API[^].

This application is a web application and I want the print at the server end since the server is the user in our case.
If it is not possible to print with this control in a web application, Is there any other way to print an html page without loading it and not to show any print dialog at the user end.
Please help me with this case.

Hi, On a site where users log in with username and password. How do I force a logout event to run before the application closes OR BROWSER IS CLOSED? I know about session_end, but that doesnt help when the browser is just closed! I really need to run an event to do a DB query before a user loggs out! Please help.

There is not sure way to do that.
You can catch the onunload event in the browser, and open a new window that will run a page where you can do your database work. Of course that doesn't work if Javascript is disabled in the browser, or if a popup blocker stops the window.
Unless the browser tells the server that it's closing, there is no way that the server can know when the browser closes. The closest thing that you can get is to have the web page send requests to the server at a certain interval, so that the server can detect when there are not coming any request any more.
